Monsters and level rewards in the content spec #19
The content spec has no enemy and no reward for a level:
no enemy life, no experience per defeat, no strength by level — a game writes its own table or formula;
the progression says how much experience a level costs, not what a level gives (life, damage, …).
Found by the arena (#16): arena/src/sim/glue/enemy.ts and levelBonus in arena/src/sim/glue/equip.ts, both marked FINDING; the arena keeps a row per enemy level and a per-level bonus in its own tuning.json. The enemy lookup ran about 90,000 times in a 10,000-tick smoke run because nothing in the core holds it.
Idea
Spec entries for monsters whose life, experience and damage are curves over level (the curve kinds the progression already has), and a per-level reward in the progression expressed as modifiers.
Open — decided when this is picked up
Whether monsters belong in the core at all, or in a separate content section a game may omit.
Monster level from area level, player level, or the game.
