I'm Brook Hong, a developer from China, the author of Surfingkeys, on which I spent and would spend a lot of effort to fix issues and develop new features. The next major task of Surfingkeys is MV3 migration, it would take much efforts of me to get it done.
I also maintain a custom build of Chromium, which provides a better experience of Surfingkeys, which could also be open sourced in case that I got plenty of support. Maintaining a patch to support rolling version of Chromium does need a lot of effort.
I'm also author of KeyCastOW, which was not actively maintained. I definitely could put some effort on it if there were supports on the project.
