I have a usecase where it would be great to be able to give users an option to get a long-lived JWT for use in API/ script calls, without needing to do the OIDC flow for those scripts.
I know the typical route is to create a service/account to call for a token, and use that, but this adds complexity to both usage and writing of the script and is beyond what a normal user needs. Additionally, if I am using Keycloak as my auth platform for my ecosystem of apps, where I would not want to create a system account for each user.
If there was a ui to generate a long-lived JWT that a user could use for such scripting usecases, that would be helpful. It would also be great for the user to be able to specify which role(s) to give the JWT, in order to be fine-grained for the token's scope.
If this was all integrated into the UI for the user's profile, that would be ideal. Thinking along the lines of how Github produces tokens. Of course there would be a realm setting(s) to enable this.
... And of course if this already exists and I just don't know about it, I would love to be educated.
