Allow users to quickly add lots to club auctions on auction.fish
Proposed Solution
auction.fish now supports the ability to pass information to create a lot via GET params. This allows users to create a new lot with a single click and have the form pre-populated with data from a third party website. If your users belong to clubs that use auction.fish, this feature will save them a ton of time.
Additionally, any field on the new lot form will work, even stuff like auction=my-cool-auction-slug, but I don't recommend filling this out as the auction may change for the user. You can inspect the form from the developer console to get the name of any field.
Passing the image_url param will automatically create an image after the lot is saved.
This system is hard to abuse because it requires the user click a link on your site, and then actually save, similar to how Google Calendar allows anyone to create an event but it only actually saves it when the user manually clicks save.
Report bugs and feature suggestions related to this at https://github.com/iragm/fishauctions/issues. I am open to adding something like this to lots on auction.fish for your site as well, for example lot winners could have a button to "add this to species I keep" that pre-populates a form in a similar way.
