Release request: ship #935 (Grafana 13.2 "SceneObject root is not a DashboardScene" fix) #947
Description
On Grafana 13.2.1 with plugin v3.5.0 (latest release), previewing a query variable backed by the Altinity datasource fails in the variable editor with:
SceneObject root is not a DashboardScene
This looks like exactly what #935 fixed (safeTemplateReplace dropping $__dashboard when templateSrv.replace() runs outside a DashboardScene). That PR was merged to master on 2026-09-07, but no release since v3.5.0 (2026-08-05) contains it.
Environment
- Grafana 13.2.1 (Docker, OSS)
- vertamedia-clickhouse-datasource 3.5.0 (installed from the grafana.com catalog)
Steps to reproduce
- Dashboard settings → Variables → New variable → Query
- Select an Altinity ClickHouse datasource and enter any query
- Click "Run query" / preview values → error above
Could you cut a release (3.5.1 or similar) with #935 and publish it to the grafana.com catalog? We install plugins from the catalog via preinstall_sync, so a GitHub-only release doesn't help us.
