Getting Started

Please ensure you are using Top Down Sprite Maker v1.2.0 or later.

Open Top Down Sprite Maker and click Start editing. Once on the customization screen, click on the (+) button to upload the Pixel Citizen sprite style ZIP file to the program:

That's it! Now you're ready to start customizing and exporting your character sprite sheets.

Editing the sprite style

Updates

This sprite style will be progressively updated with new animations, clothing items, hairstyles, and more.

Though it may not seem that way, it is a lot of work to add content to the sprite style. For example, it takes hundreds of animation frames (~4-5 hours of work) to add a single item of clothing to the "outerwear" or "top" layers. That's why I would like to prioritize updates based on demand. You can request for content to be added to the sprite style in this discussion thread. New animations make up the biggest workload, as all existing customization options in the sprite style will have to be extended for newly added animations.

There are character packs available in this style. Each character pack comes with hundreds of unique, ready-to-use character sprite sheets:

You may not:

• Resell this sprite style, whether modified or not.
• Use the contents of this sprite style to train AI models.
