For urologists and radiologists working in focal therapy, confirming what was actually ablated usually comes down to comparing pre- and post-treatment scans by eye. Quantifying treatment-zone coverage and margins gives a more consistent basis for follow-up decisions. David Bazaga, VP of Product at Quibim, presented this work at #PROFocal2026: AI algorithms for treatment-zone segmentation and post-therapeutic focal assessment to show how AI is helping clinicians segment treatment zones and assess focal therapy outcomes in #ProstateCancer. #FocalTherapy #ProstateCancer #AI #MedicalImaging

Researchers at Monash University built SAT3D: a foundation AI model that segments tumors across nine cancer types (brain, breast, lung, liver, pancreas, kidney, colon, head and neck, plus whole-body lesions), using CT, MRI, PET and ultrasound. Its accuracy (Dice 0.672) was comparable to nnUNet, the benchmark model trained separately for each task, and it flags the areas it's least sure about for the specialist to check. The study points toward a more scalable approach to AI in oncology: fewer tools built one organ at a time, more general models that can quantify tumors across patients, cancers and imaging types, while keeping specialists in the loop. This is where foundation models could make a real difference—and an area we're actively exploring at Quibim. https://lnkd.in/eZRSmesw #WorldCancerResearchDay #MedicalImaging #ArtificialIntelligence

The Compass AI consortium meeting took place in Barcelona. This project is a flagship initiative of the European Commission’s Apply AI strategy, which aims to develop guidelines for the safe, effective, and equitable use of AI in healthcare across Europe. What is Quibim’s contribution? ▪️Deployment of AI solutions in the radiology pilot: implementation of QP-Prostate in two healthcare facilities: Hospital La Fe de Valencia (a tertiary care hospital) and Nemocnice Prachatice, a.s. (a remote hospital in the Czech Republic). ▪️Contributing to the development of guidelines for AI deployment in healthcare, drawing on our experience implementing QP-Prostate® across healthcare centres worldwide. ▪️Post-deployment workshops: leading sessions on what happens once an AI tool becomes operational in clinical practice. Stay tuned for upcoming updates! #CompassAI #EU4Health #EUCancerPlan

PSA of 6.9. A clear example of a challenging PI-RADS 3 case: atrophy or a real lesion? QP-Prostate® flagged the study as negative before the biopsy. The biopsy came back negative too. This is what a reliable negative read can do, help avoid an unnecessary biopsy. AI acts as a solid second opinion before signing off on a negative report. It doesn't replace the read: it backs it up. Excited to see David Bazaga take the stage at #PROFocal2026 and share how Quibim's AI is helping clinicians segment treatment zones and assess focal therapy outcomes in #ProstateCancer.
🧠 AI is moving from reading scans to drawing the treatment zone — and checking what we actually ablated presented by David Bazaga, Biomedical Engineering Product Lead at Quibim, brings that work to #PROFocal2026. Proudly Spanish-built imaging AI, on a European stage. 📌 “AI algorithms for treatment-zone segmentation and post-therapeutic focal assessment” 🗓️ Friday, 25 September 2026 · 11:45 📍 San Pablo CEU · Madrid #FocalTherapy #ProstateCancer #AI #MedicalImaging #SpanishInnovation Lyx Urología The Lyx Institution Quibim Eric Barret Giuseppe Maiolino

We will be attending the FTS & SURS in Arlington, VA, from September 17-19. Interpreting prostate MRI scans can take up a large part of time: segmenting the prostate, identifying lesions, and assessing risk. These manual steps all have to happen before the physician can move on to the next stage. We’ll be there to explain how DynaCAD with QP-Prostate® solves this problem: a fully automated AI analysis integrated directly into the DynaCAD workflow, so that the process from acquisition to intervention becomes a seamless workflow rather than a series of steps. Want to see it firsthand? Book a demo before the conference: https://lnkd.in/evPryKCX Nathan Clark | Joshua Moss #ProstateCancer #RadiologyAI #Urology #MedicalImaging

Miquel Campassol spent two years of his prostate cancer journey searching for answers that felt out of reach. But some answers are already there, waiting to be seen. When QP-Prostate® reviewed the images taken two years earlier, it found what the eye had missed. Early detection changes the story. Innovation is what gets us there in time.
