Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: I am requesting semi-protection for Ismail al-Faruqi and a set of pages related to him due to chronic sockpuppetry. These pages are a daily or weekly target of newly created socks of Ibn Juferi, and semi-protection will slow down the sockmaster's ability to change these pages. In addition to Ismail al-Faruqi and for the same reason, I am requesting semi-protection for:
- Lois Lamya al-Faruqi
- Murder of the Faruqis
- Urubah and Religion
- Trialogue of the Abrahamic Faiths
- Meta-religion
- Fazlur Rahman Malik
- Christian Ethics (book)
- Islam and the Problem of Israel
- Islamization of Knowledge (book)
- Al-Tawhid: Its Implications for Thought and Life
- The Cultural Atlas of Islam

- Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. I looked at all the articles' histories. Chronic sockpuppetry alone, if it's infrequent and the editors can deal with it, is not enough IMO to justify protection. Daniel Case (talk) 03:00, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
Reason: High level of IP vandalism Techdelixir (talk) 16:19, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Daniel Case (talk) 22:52, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
Temporary full protection: High level of edit warring. Coster85 (talk) 18:35, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- Given that the talk page discussions seem not to be increasing mutual understanding, I'm not optimistic that forcing the two primary combatants there would make much difference to the situation. Perhaps something like 1RR, although I'm not sure how we could impose it under the present structure, would work better. Daniel Case (talk) 23:12, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- Don’t think 1RR would work in that situation. Maybe the locking of the page will force the parties to discuss.Coster85 (talk) 01:24, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- Not done. This request may be unnecessary now given that 72.36.119.94 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) has been globally blocked for one week. If edit warring resumes, please submit a new request. Thanks. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 01:45, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Daniel Quinlan: More IP vandalism; at least semi is needed.--Coster85 (talk) 02:52, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. Multiple times vandalism and unsourced changes by newly registered editors. See:1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. The article is already on the WP:ITN. MSLQr (talk) 19:45, 11 November 2024 (UTC)

- Declined "Unsourced changes by newly registered editors" is often what happens with breaking news stories, and we have to assume they mean well even when we revert. As for vandalism, yes, it's happened here, but nowhere near enough to require protection IMO. Daniel Case (talk) 02:51, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Unexplained changes made by several IPs. CycloneYoris talk! 22:03, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- Automated comment: One or more pages in this request appear to already be protected. Please confirm.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 01:18, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- Semi-protected indefinitely. Dr vulpes (Talk) 01:19, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Slow vandalism committed by multiple IP addresses by changing the redirect target to random pages. ZZZ'S 23:43, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Bbb23 (talk) 23:59, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Page has been over-run with disruptive editing by anonymous editors, and the disruption continues to happen, even after page is updated to meet MOS standards. livelikemusic (TALK!) 00:58, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

- Declined – Likely collateral damage as one or several users who are making improvements would be affected by the requested protection. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 01:30, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Lots of vandalism as related to the election. Recommend protection; temporarily. Dillard421♂♂ (talk to me) 02:12, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
