A Record (Address Record)

AAAA

AAAA Record (IPv6 Address)

MX

MX Record (Mail Exchange)

Specifies which mail servers receive email for your domain. Critical for email delivery. Example: 10 mail.example.com

CNAME

CNAME Record (Canonical Name)

Your authoritative nameserver updates instantly, but other resolvers keep serving the old value until their cached TTL expires. It depends almost entirely on your record's TTL. With a low TTL (300 seconds) most resolvers update within 5 to 15 minutes; with a standard 3600-second TTL it is usually 1 to 4 hours, and full global propagation can take up to 24 to 48 hours because some ISPs cache longer than the TTL requests. Why isn't my DNS propagating? expand_more
Usually it is caching, not a mistake: resolvers hold the old record until its TTL expires, and some ISPs override low TTLs and cache for up to 24 hours. Other causes are editing the wrong record, a high TTL set before the change, or registrar delays. Lower your TTL before planned changes and use DNS Dingo to confirm which resolvers are still serving stale data.
How do I flush my DNS cache? expand_more
On Windows, open Command Prompt as administrator and run ipconfig /flushdns. On macOS, run sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder. On Linux with systemd, run sudo systemd-resolve --flush-caches, and remember to also clear your browser's DNS cache. Flushing only clears your local cache, so use DNS Dingo to see the global picture.
