Frederik M. Braun 发布了此动态Human in the loop. Or human on the loop. About a decade ago during my stint at Microsoft, we called for a Geneva Convention for Cyber & AI. Guardrails for AI itself - Peers in the tech industry largely shrugged. Too early, too political, too big. And now, here we are. Earlier this week, the CEOs of OpenAI and Anthropic shared the warning that their own industry may be moving too fast to control - it might just be in the light of IPO's. But I DO worry (still). As a father first. But also as a global citizen and a business officer, and that worry is not a decade out. It is now. We are seeing two things happening simultaneously. AI agency is getting faster than one can keep up with. And attacks on critical infrastructure and businesses are increasing - not least in our part of the world. Put the two together and the pressure is relentless. Monday, I discussed the changes affecting the cybersecurity industry with a Gartner analyst. His conclusion resonated: AI aided threat actors are moving so fast that it can be hard to afford to have human decision making in the security loop. We are moving towards having human monitoring on the loop. Just like I did a decade ago, I stand by the same call as big tech CEOs: we need guardrails. But until we get the conventions going, I suggest we start defining and safeguarding the systems that keep hospitals, power, water and financial institutions running as a first priority. With the current speed of change, success of our adversaries is not a question of if. But when. The open versions of that same capability are four to seven months behind the frontier, and closing every quarter, per the UK's AI Safety Institute. Gating a closed model buys time, not control. Public weights don't come back. No safeguard, policy, or board resolution reaches them once they're out. So the real planning question isn't how to respond to this incident. It's how to operate once this capability belongs to everyone. The capability itself is already loose. What's still ours to decide is what happens the moment it reaches us. Frederik M. Braun 分享了此动态European regulators put AI-driven cyberattacks on bank boards' agendas this summer. The European Systemic Risk Boardwarned of the risk in June, and the European Central Bank followed with a letter to the CEO of every significant euro-area bank. The question behind that warning reaches well beyond financial services, and it was debated at length during our BullWall Board strategy day last week: AI already finds and exploits weaknesses faster than most organisations can patch them, and that changes what any security plan has to cover. Regardless of the root cause, ransomware or an AI model, data destruction now moves at machine speed. The board wanted to know how our plan holds up as more of what we defend against moves at machine speed instead of human speed, and where our product roadmap takes us. The leadership team answered directly, and I'm proud of how openly the board and management worked through it together. I left the day with the same conclusion regulators are only now catching up to: you cannot patch and detect your way out of a compressed attack window. A plan also needs an answer for the day something gets through anyway, and that is the answer we built BullWall on. Thanks to our board for driving an important industry agenda. Neda N. Researchers had to manually check around 10,000 names of property owners living abroad to find them – which means the real number could be even higher. Sweden’s Security Service, Säpo, sees these properties as a potential security risk, as they could be used for spying, sabotage, or other hostile activity. The issue is that Sweden still doesn’t have a law allowing the government to block these kinds of property purchases. On the island of Muskö, for example, the Armed Forces are trying to take over a holiday home owned by a Russian citizen because it’s located right next to a naval base. The first government inquiry into the issue began in 2017, and a second produced an SOU report in 2024. But nine years later, no bill has been introduced. Defence Minister Pål Jonson says the earlier inquiries didn’t cover every possible situation and that drafting a strong law takes time. Opposition defence spokesperson Peter Hultqvist, meanwhile, says those years were simply wasted. #sweden

It has been a privilege collaborating with iconic brands including #LEGO, #Arla, #Grundfos, #Hempel, #Bestseller, #Velux, #Dovista, #Vestas, #DanishCrown and many more. I’ve travelled to many countries, experienced new cultures, and built friendships that will stay with me forever. My many visits to Microsoft HQ in Seattle — together with customers and colleagues — stand out as truly memorable experiences, both professionally and socially, with time to explore the beautiful surroundings of Seattle. 🌟 A highlight among many One moment I will always cherish is being awarded Platinum Club Winner (red jacket) as well as the Founders Award. That was BIG for a guy from Jutland. I have always admired #SatyaNadella — his leadership, his vision, and Microsoft’s mission: “To empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.” His ability, together with the leadership team, to anticipate and adapt to the next technology wave — always with a focus on creating customer value — has been inspiring. Braun 赞了此动态For a municipality, the hardest part of a ransomware attack isn't only stopping it: it's keeping essential services running for residents while you do. That was the conversation I was proud to be part of at Municipal Information Systems Association British Columbia (MISA BC) representing BullWall on a panel asking a very real question: when cybercriminals get in, how do government agencies respond and keep critical services online? A few things I took away from the room: • Municipalities are prime targets, and prevention alone isn't enough. The teams that hold up plan for the moment an attacker is already inside. • Once an attack is live, speed of response is everything. Minutes decide how much stays up and how much goes down. • Resilience is a practice, not a purchase. The agencies doing it well treat it as an ongoing discipline, not a one-time project. Thank you to Ricoh Canada Inc. for hosting, to Richard Hyde for guiding the conversation and to Luke Timms and Brian Zandvliet for sharing the City of Kelowna's own experience so openly. Braun 赞了此动态Where the ransomware conversation is heading, and whether our position is aimed at the right part of it: that is the question our CRO, Robert Verkade, and I brought to the board together at our strategy day last week. The market itself gave us the frame. Ransomware now sits behind well over 40% of breaches, and most organisations that get hit still fail to recover within a day. That is one track. The other is newer and moving fast: AI is already being used to find and exploit weaknesses at a pace no security process was built for. Spend is rotating from stopping an attack to proving a business is kept running after one, on either track. That is exactly where our product and narrative have to sit. Getting that position right means it has to move with the product, not ahead of it. Both are changing this year: the platform underneath, and how we present it. The second is done with our strategic partner, Steffen Blauenfeldt Otkjær and the team at AKQA, who have pushed us further than we would have gone alone. Alignment and control belong to the AI companies, and against an attacker running a model with the safety stripped out, they stop applying. Only two layers run on your infrastructure. That is where containment works: it responds to the destructive activity itself, not to who is behind it. When an authorised account, or one of your own agents, starts encrypting a file share, you do not identify the actor first. You stop it on fixed rules, in seconds. We can do so much to limit the likelihood of a breach; Train people, place harnesses and skills around our agents and deploy detect & response tech. The reality is that impact is the other side of the equation. Resiliency is only achieved when the likelihood and impact is addressed. Companies get breached every day, with all the right detection tools in place. And in many ways that's what makes this period in security so incredibly exciting to work in.Frederik M. Braun 赞了此动态I think CISOs should judge every security control with one assumption: a normal person will eventually make a mistake. That sounds obvious, but a lot of controls still depend on the opposite... They ask people to make the right call every time, even as work moves faster and AI adds more decisions. You can see the failure mode in something as simple as permissions. Ask someone “allow or deny?” enough times and eventually they’ll stop reviewing every request. Some AI tools even offer a “dangerously auto-allow” setting that lets the agent keep taking actions without asking for approval each time. The useful question is what the control does after that mistake happens. I call this the Perfect Human Test: If a well-intentioned employee is tired, rushed, or wrong once... does the control still contain the damage? A resilient control does. A fragile control turns one ordinary mistake into business risk. I don't think the perfect human exists. Good security should assume people will occasionally get something wrong... and keep that one decision from becoming a much bigger problem.
