Perilous Frontiers offers many sets and bundles, and they share a lot of pieces. Tell
the optimizer which pieces you want, and it finds the cheapest combination of
sets that gives you at least that many of each. It also shows what extras come
along.
Quick start
- Enter quantities in Desired pieces (left). Or click Add beside sets on
the right to copy in their contents as a starting point.
- Click Optimize.
- Read the Pledge summary for what to buy and the Item manifest for
everything you'll get.
Desired pieces
Each row is a piece. Type how many you want, and leave 0 for pieces you don't care
about. Groups follow the community spreadsheet: new pieces by color scheme
(Universal, Arctic, Desert), all unpainted pieces, printed materials, accessories,
and pieces reused from earlier Dwarven Forge products.
The code beside each piece tells you which version it is (hover over it for a reminder):
| …-w-P | Painted, Desert scheme |
| …-i-P | Painted, Arctic scheme |
| …-P | Painted, same in both schemes |
| …-U | Unpainted. One unpainted sculpt matches both painted versions. |
| …-T | Printed materials: textures, mats, backdrops |
| …-Z | Hardware and accessories: pegs, rods, stilts, lights |
+1 of each painted / unpainted raises every piece of that kind to at least 1.
Filter pieces searches names and codes, and Only show desired hides the zeros.
Your entries are saved in this browser automatically. Use Save / Load
to keep them in a CSV file or move them to another computer.
Sets & bundles
- Add copies a set's contents into your desired pieces and Sub removes
them. Click a set's name to see what's inside, with its Gamefound picture.
Click the picture to see it full size.
- Sum mode (normal) adds the set's quantities to what you already have.
Max mode raises each piece to at least the set's quantity instead.
- Omit stops the optimizer from choosing a set. You can still Add its contents.
- SG marks stretch-goal sets.
Results
- Pledge summary: the sets to buy and the total cost. Desired pieces
lost with one fewer shows what you'd be short if you dropped one copy of a
set. "All spare" means that set only adds extras, which happens when pieces
can only be bought in bigger sets.
- Item manifest: every piece in the pledge next to what you asked for. Tick
Only show extras to see just the leftovers.
- Desired list: a compact list of what you've entered.
Recipes
- "I want this bundle, but cheaper"
- Add the bundle, tick its Omit box, and Optimize. You'll see whether a mix of
smaller sets beats it. (Usually not: bundles are discounted.)
- "I want to build A or B, not both at once"
- Switch to Max, Add A, then Add B. Shared pieces are counted once, at the
larger quantity.
- "I want painted pieces but will paint some myself"
- Enter painted quantities for the pieces you want painted and unpainted
quantities for the rest. The optimizer mixes painted and unpainted sets.
- "I want one of everything"
- Click +1 of each painted (or unpainted) and Optimize.
Good to know
- Prices are Gamefound campaign prices, with bundles at their bundle price.
Shipping, tax, pledge-level extras and any other discounts are not included.
- The answer is the guaranteed cheapest unless you set a Tolerance or the
Time limit runs out, and the status message says when that happens.
Solving normally takes well under a second.
- Set contents and prices come from the
community spreadsheet
(see the date under the title). If something looks wrong, check the sheet first.
- Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
