So gut du kannst. Gilbert Bachour shared thisOh boy, what a ride! I had the privilege of working with the Langdock crew on their strategic brand foundation. It all started with a great recommendation (still my favourite KPI). Katharina reached out and simply wrote: “We’d love to learn from you.” So I dropped by. We clicked immediately. I developed the strategic brand foundation, the tone of voice, the first hints of the creative direction and a few creative springboards to ensure that the visual identity mirrors the strategy. And the pace was, to put it mildly, high. After two and a half days, I had to present the first strategic direction to the management team. The response? Three hearts. ❤️❤️❤️ How lovely is that? The best part? The core of that direction stayed with us all the way through. I also had the chance to learn so much about AI — not only at a deep product level, but also from a broader sociocultural perspective — through all those short and long ping-pong sessions. Every day. With so many brilliant minds at Langdock. The culture is truly one of a kind: open, supportive and, at its core, driven by curiosity. Working with you was pure pleasure — and a masterclass in thinking and execution. Thank you, Lennard Schmidt, Katharina Hess and the entire Langdock team. This isn’t goodbye. I’ll stay on as a advisor and continue to support Langdock whenever strategic questions pop up. For now, though, I’m free — and open for new projects. So give me a shout when you need help with brand, communication, copy, creative direction... Stay soft, Stay classy, Have fun, g

Gilbert Bachour shared thisSauerkraut Tamale Bon Bon Last night at the Cash & Carry get-together in Berlin: "Built, Not Bought: Go-to-Market for Modern Consumer Brands." The thesis of the evening: Paid acquisition buys you reach. Content, creators, and community build you distribution you actually own. Or, on of the goats Seth Godin puts it: "People do not buy goods and services. They buy relations, stories and magic." Speakers were really divers. Moritz Fritzen (LANCH) — creator-led GTM. Interesting and classic marketing craft, smartly done. Nicolas Hartmann (vly) — much more product-driven. Honestly: very much my style. Amelie Hurbe — the most intriguing case for me: building in public without knowing exactly what she's building. An open experiment. One I'll gladly keep following. Thanks to my friend Jakob Fricke and to Julius for an inspiring evening. PS: Jakob Fricke, your t-shirt won the night. Magnifique. PPS: Joony's Natural Soda : Maracuja is my favorite. Thank you! Gilbert Bachour shared thisOpen position: Head of AI Optimism We all had our ChatGPT moment. That first moment when AI stopped feeling abstract and suddenly became something you could use. To write. To think. To solve something that had been sitting on your desk for too long. At first, it felt exciting. Then, almost immediately, it became unsettling. Excitement. Mistrust. Disorientation. Repeat. And then there's this certain fomo vibe around AI. You take two days off. Family. Kids. Digital detox. Maybe you had no choice — sick parents, no signal, just life. You come back on day three. And even though you were at the front of this thing just 48 hours ago — you already feel behind. It moves faster than you can follow. Not because you're slow. Because it doesn't stop. We are caught in a paradox. Fascinated and afraid. Not one after the other. Both. At the same time. Every day. This is not an individual problem. This is the zeitgeist. And yet something is missing. Not just at company level. Hot take: also at political level. A function whose only job is to bring people along. Not to convince. Not to reassure. To make them confident. Call it: Head of AI Optimism. Because the future will not only be defined by how fast AI evolves. It will be defined by how people feel about it in the first place. Stay soft, Stay classy, g

Gilbert Bachour shared thisJan Lehnardt is the Creme de la Creme. And a Schweizer taschenmesser in tech. Have fun working with him. Stay classy, gGilbert Bachour shared thisHey all, I have a big favour to ask. At the beginning of the week, a large client that we had 100% expected to get started with a large project this month has dropped out at the most inconvenient time for us. My team at Neighbourhoodie Neighbourhoodie and I are looking for any and all projects we might be able to help with, the sooner the better. We are really good at turning manual and/or analogue processes into digital ones, especially, but not limited to, if parts of the process need to work while a person or device is offline. We have proven this repeatedly by making substantial contributions to fighting a Ebola epidemic, testing the first ever Ebola vaccine and distributing the very first COVID vaccinations to all eligible Bavarians. We are also really good at taking your prototypes and turn them into real-life, secure, reliable, fast and scalable systems that you can bet your company on for years. From UX to SRE, we got you covered. You need a frontend for a backend service you’ve built, we got you. You need a backend for a mobile app or game you’ve built, we got you. We also excel at designing, building and debugging distributed database systems of all sizes and shapes. If you sync your photos with tools from the large red brick company, we helped with that. We can help migrate your infrastructures from US clouds to EU hosters (within reason). Wanna move from GitHub to a self-hosted or managed Forgejo? Get in touch! Additionally, in the past three years we helped 15+ FOSS projects from systemd, to GNOME, to PHP and PyPI, as well as Servo and Log4j with maintenance and security tasks in all sorts of programming languages and environments. We can help with yours, too. We can also help join your team (remotely, CE[S]T) to augment any current projects you’re need accelerated. I’m happy to answer any question you might have. And I appreciate any leads and all boosts <3

Susan Sontag schrieb: „I write to find out what I’m thinking.“ Genau so fühlt es sich an. Stift. Papier. Aufmerksamkeit, Achtsamkeit, Empathie, Herz. Choose your weapons wisely. Stay soft, Stay classy, g

Gilbert Bachour liked thisWe cooked ⬇️Gilbert Bachour liked thisWe announced our move back to Europe with a typewriter - here is why. The people I work with care deeply about what they build. You can see it in the long discussions about whether something is actually finished. In another round of customer interviews, just to understand what's really getting in the way. In the version that gets thrown away because it wasn't quite right yet. From the outside, some of that care is hard to see. I think that's exactly what marketing should be doing: making it visible. Design, words and storytelling can carry what a company believes to people who have never met it. Done well, people feel it before anyone has to explain it. The website we launched this month is the closest I've come to that so far. Ask anyone here why they're at Langdock, and you'll hear about Europe. About building something for the whole world. About quality, and doing things with real craft. Everyone has their own reason. We wanted the website to carry that conviction, so we kept reworking it until it felt like talking to the team. A lot of it lives in the details. Filip Tsolov built an app so everyone on the team could sign the website themselves. The photos come from three days of taking our team on dates around the city. And the typewriter actually works (go try it). None of this was necessary. We just really enjoyed doing it. AI is changing what one person or a small team can build, and how quickly. It would be easy to use that to make more of the same. I'd rather spend it on the idea that used to seem like too much work. On the detail that makes someone smile because they can tell a person thought of it. Link in the comments.

Gilbert Bachour liked thisGilbert Bachour liked thisWhen Artur told me at the beginning of the year about Nox's mission to make overnight train travel a joy rather than a pain, I didn't quite know what it would take to bring the full digital experience of train travel to life. From ticketing and inventory to the entire onboard service, we've been rethinking and building what a modern night train should feel like. Today we're showing the first piece. You can now book a good night's sleep between Hamburg and Munich, for journeys from March 2027 onwards: https://noxmobility.com Thank you, Maximilian for the heavy lifting; Artur, Thibault and Janek for the trust; and Albena, Anastasiya, Damyan, Martin, Nikolaj, Pete, Plamen, Rado and everyone else, for the clean execution. It’s been a joy to work with you.

Gilbert Bachour liked thisGilbert Bachour liked thisImage generation models have struggled to create native vector graphics. They mostly try to create an image and then vectorise it. Excited to see F13 come out of stealth with their frontier model for vector image generation. I backed Gregory & Ingimar because I believe there was a missing piece of the visual puzzle; vector images create better presentations, infographics, websites and overall graphics for anything you can imagine. Glad to participate with Baobab Ventures in the $5M pre-seed round alongside Credo Ventures, Maciek Gnutek, Point Nine, Dawid Rylski and many more. Check it out: f13.com
