🫁 𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀: 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗖𝗟𝗖𝟮𝟲   At #WCLC26, we presented new survival data for a chemotherapy-free immunotherapy approach in patients with squamous non-small cell lung cancer whose disease has progressed after prior treatment.     💡 Metastatic squamous non-small cell lung cancer is an area of continued medical need. 🏗️ 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗡𝗧𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘂𝗽 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗥𝗡𝗔 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 The Victorian Government agency mRNA Victoria contracted with us in December 2023 to play a key role in building and strengthening a local mRNA ecosystem. As part of this multi-year strategic partnership, we have already established an mRNA Innovation Center in Melbourne to contribute our scientific expertise.  In parallel, we are developing and commissioning a state‑of‑the‑art mRNA manufacturing facility on La Trobe University’s Bundoora campus. The site is designed to support the research and development as well as the clinical manufacturing of investigational mRNA-based medicines from Victoria’s growing ecosystem and from other third‑party innovators globally.  Last week, we celebrated two BioNTainer units having been successfully installed as part of this pioneering public‑private partnership with the State of Victoria. David Sparling, our Site Head in Australia, said: “We are grateful to be able to contribute to a growing community that is jointly building a multi‑partner mRNA ecosystem. The presentation highlights our ongoing efforts in developing innovative treatment approaches across lung cancer subtypes and PD-L1 expression levels. 🫁 𝗨𝗡𝗠𝗘𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 NSCLC is an aggressive disease and one of the most challenging cancers to treat. Despite scientific advances which have transformed the treatment of NSCLC, improving outcomes for many patients, the 5-year survival rate is only 18% to 22% in advanced stages. There is a significant unmet need for new treatment options that provide durable responses benefiting a broad range of patients. That is why we at #BioNTech remain committed to advancing the science of lung cancer with the goal of reaching a broader range of patients, including those who may not benefit from current treatment options.
