Hamish Blank ha recomendado estoHamish Blank ha recomendado esto25 years ago, I left New Zealand and today, I'm incredibly excited to share that I'm coming home to join Trade Me as CEO. Trade Me is much more than a company. For generations of kiwi, it has been part of everyday life. A place where we've bought, sold, searched, discovered and connected. Many people have contributed to Trade Me's success and in particular I want to congratulate Anders Skoe on everything he and the team have achieved over the years. Trade Me is not just a strong business and much-loved brand, but a community of people with a mission to support New Zealand's economy and commercial culture. Thank you to Steven Kooyers, Apax and the Board for giving me the opportunity to join this team and help write the next chapter of Trade Me's story. I'm also incredibly grateful to my amazing family, and to the many people who have supported, challenged and shaped me along the way. Here's to new beginnings, in familiar surroundings. 🥝

Hamish Blank ha recomendado estoHamish Blank ha recomendado estoToday I get to write my "I'm retiring" post. July 2, 1990 was my first day of work and July 2nd is also my last. I’ve had the great pleasure of working with smart, motivated, friendly people at a company that fit me perfectly. My career was a varied experience; I had 25 different jobs (half of which were newly created at the time), which brought me to more than 20 countries and I expect my version of retirement will reflect my career. Spending more time with my wonderful family and friends, exploring new far away places while finding ways to challenge myself and try new things. Sincere thanks to all my colleagues/friends who helped make the journey as rewarding as it was. -Raj https://lnkd.in/gRZ5QnnH'From all the big hairy bullshit' | HouseSitter Clip'From all the big hairy bullshit' | HouseSitter Clip

Our ambition is to lead in AI 🤖. My role is to enable, accelerate and control how we do that, alongside the business transformation required. And to ensure our data platforms, products and services are AI-ready. It’s fantastic to be doing another Telstra-wide role that will unlock huge potential for us all! With the support of the Accenture joint venture that I lead with Arnab Chakraborty and the Quantium-Telstra JV with Shiraz Amod, we have the capability to transform! A special call-out to Dayle Stevens OAM, my predecessor who has laid great foundations for us in this journey: looking forward to working together in your new role driving our engagement on, and advancement of AI. Hamish Blank ha recomendado estoHamish Blank ha recomendado estoThis week I started at Capital One as Vice President, Diners Club International & International Risk. If I’m honest, it felt a bit like the first day at a new school. Walking into a new building. Learning new names. Trying to figure out where the coffee is. Wondering how everything works. There’s excitement, but there’s also nervous energy. After a few months on gardening leave, it would have been easy to stay comfortable. But I’ve learned that the periods where I’ve grown the most in my career have usually started with feeling slightly uncomfortable. New people. New challenges. New things to learn. So today I’m embracing being the new guy again. A lot to learn. A lot to figure out. And that’s exactly why I’m excited for what’s ahead. Time to get to work! 💪🏾💪🏾

Hamish Blank ha recomendado estoHamish Blank ha recomendado estoSpent the last few days in Toronto with Omonike Robinson-Pickering, meeting valued bank clients and law firm partners. It is always energizing to have in-person conversations about the market, client needs and where opportunities are emerging. One thing that stood out during the trip: despite global uncertainty, there’s a notable sense of resilience and pragmatism across the Canadian economy. Grateful for the warm hospitality and thoughtful discussions. Just a pity the Jays couldn’t crack it for a win!

It has been a challenging, rewarding and incredibly intense 11 months since we kicked off the Enterprise Contact Centre program. As of yesterday, after an enormous effort from our teams and our partners at AWS, ANZ’s new customer contact centre platform is live in our biggest market, Australia. Over the past few years, much of my focus has been on learning and applying AI at enterprise, from building Ensayo accelerate software delivery, to ZorroAI, taking AI to bankers and real business workflows. Then, 11 months ago, my focus shifted. Not away from AI, but towards something I increasingly believe is essential to making AI useful at enterprise scale: the foundation on which it operates. Everyone would agree we are still at the beginning of the AI journey. Models, agentic capabilities and the broader ecosystem will continue to evolve rapidly. And particularly in financial services, the challenge is much bigger than choosing the best model. AI needs an environment where customer conversations, data, banker knowledge, workflows and systems can be end to end connected safely and reliably, supported by strong engineering, security, resilience and governance. That is why, looking back, I still believe my decision last year to join this program and lead its technical implementation was the right battle to fight. A contact centre is becoming much more than a call centre. What we have built is not simply about replacing one contact-centre technology with another. It creates a foundation from which we can progressively rethink how customers interact with the bank. Over time, AI can increasingly understand customer intent, bring the right knowledge into conversations, assist bankers, automate workflows across banking systems and ultimately resolve more customer needs directly. The important question therefore becomes less: “Which AI model should we use?” and more: “How do we build an enterprise platform that can continuously take advantage of the AI capabilities of tomorrow?” Getting here required an extraordinary effort across engineering, architecture, operations, security, risk, business teams and our technology partners. I am incredibly proud of the team and grateful for the partnership and commitment from AWS. Yesterday wasn’t the finish line. We will continue landing new contact-centre capabilities across our International Institutional businesses, New Zealand Retail and for also for our employees support. And for me, this milestone also marks another transition. My gear is shifting back towards AI. Ensayo taught me about applying AI to engineering. ZorroAI extended that into bankers. Building customer contact centre has added another piece: creating the enterprise foundation through which AI can ultimately reach customers, bankers at scale! The platform is live. Now the AI journey continues.

ASIC report 779 isn't just a governance problem. It's a data and interpretation problem. Return objectives sit in PDS documents. Performance data sits in platform feeds. Comprehensive benchmark data is cost-prohibitive for most to access. And the qualitative research context that sits behind a rating, is captured in a ratings report or held in analyst notes and institutional memory. Nobody has joined these things up...yet. A significant portion of PDS objectives we've reviewed don't include a measurable timeframe. A benchmark might be named without a fixed measurement window - "over the longer term," for example, doesn't translate directly into a monitoring rule. And even where timeframes exist, what counts as persistent underperformance? Bridging that gap requires research judgment, not just data. As part of FE fundinfo Group, Zenith Investment Partners sits at an unusual intersection as an investment research house, portfolio manager and a data business all in one. Our investment research capability means we can advocate for investment managers to establish executable objectives, and where that's not possible, determine an appropriate analytical standard to apply. Our data infrastructure makes it monitorable at scale. And our experience building solutions across the Australian financial services industry means we understand what the output needs to look like for advisers, licensees and platforms. We're building a reporting solution for our managed accounts clients to do exactly this, and we suspect the same solution is needed across advice APLs and platform governance processes more broadly. I would love to connect if you're working through this currently or would be interested in a conversation about what we're building. #ManagedAccounts #Report779 #InvestmentResearch

Record Card Spend, Real Cost for Business Australia set new records for card spending in 2025, but it came with a quieter trend that matters just as much for business. Merchant service fees increased across most card categories at the same time. For many businesses, cards are essential. Customers expect them, and they support sales. But higher acceptance costs directly impact margins, particularly in high‑volume or low‑margin sectors. Over time, this can change how liquidity is managed, how pricing decisions are made, and which payment types make sense for different customer segments. More businesses are now taking a closer look at their receivables mix. The question is no longer “cards or no cards”, but where lower‑cost account‑to‑account payments can sit alongside cards to improve cash flow outcomes. How closely are you reviewing payment costs as part of your working capital strategy? The Transaction Banking team at NAB can help and please contact me to introduce you to a Transaction Banking specialist. Reference: PayDay News: https://paydaynews.com.au/
