IAG is proud to have hosted IPFA’s ‘Evolving the PPP Model: A Renewables Focus’ session in Melbourne last week, bringing together leading voices from across the infrastructure sector to consider a critical question: how can the PPP model continue to evolve to meet the demands of increasingly complex sectors and project types while unlocking greater value for governments?   The discussion explored what the emerging ‘Collaborative PPP’ model means for the renewables sector and beyond - including smarter risk allocation, earlier engagement, open book transparency and pain and gain sharing.   We were privileged to hear from an outstanding panel of industry experts comprising Danny Benjamin, David Noble, Andrew Fry and Saori Peguicha. IAG is excited to welcome Adam Taylor to the team as Executive Director. Adam is a senior rail, program and operational readiness leader with over 18 years' experience across infrastructure and transport, including more than 16 years in rail network delivery and operational environments across Australia and the United Kingdom. A Chartered Project Professional and Certified Practising Project Director, he brings a proven track record of leading high-risk transitions in safety-critical live railway environments with discipline and control.   Adam has held senior leadership roles across major rail and government infrastructure programs, designing and delivering enterprise operational readiness models for major rail projects and leading whole-of-government initiatives across large infrastructure portfolios. His expertise in operational readiness, rail systems integration and program governance strengthens IAG's capability to support clients through complex infrastructure transitions. The IAG team was glad to attend the MAINSTREAM conference last week. Across the two days we were fortunate to connect with many people across the asset management community. The conversations were meaningful, the energy was fantastic and it was wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces while continuing to build on the trusted relationships we've developed with our clients. These moments remind us why our industry is so special. It's the people, the shared challenges and the collective drive to do better in how we manage and deliver critical infrastructure. Congratulations to IAG Defence and National Security's Dr Brad Cassels on his latest refereed paper in Radiation Protection in Australasia!   "A New Method of Encapsulating Radioactively Contaminated Soils for Disposal using a Patented Polymer"   The paper examines a new Australian-developed polymer capable of encapsulating radioactive and other contaminated soil, sealing it safely within a solid and durable material. Testing showed that even under extreme conditions, almost no contamination escapes. Because the material is so effective at containing waste, it could reduce the need to bury it deep underground in specially selected sites – a process that has proven notoriously difficult to achieve in Australia. Brad also considers how this technology could help address a significant real-world challenge: the millions of tonnes of contaminated soil still held in storage at Fukushima, Japan, more than a decade after the 2011 nuclear accident.   Brad is a radiation protection and regulatory science specialist with over 40 years' experience across Victorian and Northern Territory Health spanning waste management, mining, energy, public health and emergency response, plus sixteen IAEA international technical missions. Rachel is an enterprise strategy and transformation leader with over 25 years' experience across government, infrastructure and parliamentary institutions. With qualifications spanning law, public policy and asset management, she brings deep expertise in translating complex policy and strategy into practical, lasting outcomes across transport, justice and community-facing services.   During her career Rachel has led some of NSW's most significant transport and tolling reform programs. Her ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, align organisations around a shared direction and drive implementation with discipline and clarity will greatly strengthen IAG's advisory capability.
