  • Australian retail continues to stand out as a compelling institutional investment opportunity, supported by resilient retail fundamentals, constrained new supply and strong population growth across key metropolitan catchments.  At this week’s Mingtiandi - APAC real estate intelligence Australia Forum, Fund Manager of GPT’s Wholesale Shopping Centre Fund (GWSCF), David Sleet, joined senior global investment leaders from Brookfield Asset Management, Link Real Estate Partners and Savills Australia to discuss the evolving outlook for Australia’s commercial property markets and where institutional capital is finding conviction.  During the discussion, David highlighted the growing momentum behind GWSCF, following its recently oversubscribed $610 million equity raise and the acquisition of 50% interests in The GPT Group’s two dominant super-regional retail assets, Sunshine Plaza and Macarthur Square.  The conversation reinforced the increasing appeal of high-quality Australian retail assets for both domestic and offshore investors. With strong investor support, a growing platform and a disciplined focus on dominant retail destinations, GWSCF remains well positioned to continue deploying capital into growth initiatives to drive long-term value creation.

  • We are pleased to announce the acquisition of 66 Eagle Street, Brisbane by The GPT Group’s sector-agnostic, value-add partnership for $380 million. Located in Brisbane CBD’s Golden Triangle precinct, the 23-level A-grade office tower offers 32,000 sqm of office space, with GPT undertaking investment management, leasing and property management services. The acquisition builds on the partnership’s existing investments across student living and logistics development, taking deployment to more than $500 million since its establishment in February 2026. CEO and Managing Director, Russell Proutt, said: “Brisbane’s Golden Triangle remains one of GPT’s highest-conviction office sub-markets, where we already own and manage 111 Eagle Street and Riverside Centre. “With Brisbane office leasing fundamentals strengthening, material under-renting in the asset and limited forecast supply into the CBD, this investment aligns with our strategy to co-invest with our partners and leverage our operational capabilities to deliver strong returns.” Read the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gczVmBzn

  • Karrinyup Shopping Centre recently became one of Perth's most unexpected sporting venues, hosting the 2026 World Squash Masters Championships in partnership with Squash Australia. At the heart of the activation, a purpose-built, all-glass squash court was installed within the centre, giving shoppers and sporting fans a rare chance to watch world-class competition up close. More than 900 athletes from 55 nations took to the court across eight days of competition, with families, supporters and spectators from around the globe filling Karrinyup throughout the Championships. Welcoming more than 14 million visitors each year, Karrinyup provided an unprecedented public platform for the sport – bringing squash to new audiences in one of Western Australia's most visited destinations. Regional General Manager Dave Moreton shared: "Karrinyup is a place where people come together, and we were proud to offer our customers the chance to experience world-class sport in such an unexpected and dynamic setting." The partnership was a strong example of the bold, experience-led approach The GPT Group brings to activating its shopping centres – creating standout moments that go beyond the everyday and reinforcing Karrinyup's position as a leading destination in Western Australia.

  • The GPT Group's Chief Investment Officer, Mark Harrison, joined two of the industry's leading forums in recent weeks to discuss where capital is flowing across Australian real estate. At the ANREV Australia Conference, Mark joined the panel 'Allocating with Conviction: Australia in a Regional Investment Context', where the conversation explored how investors are navigating the broader Asia Pacific landscape – weighing relative value across sectors and markets, and the fundamentals shaping investment decisions in the current cycle. Mark also joined the AFR Property Summit panel, 'Winners and Losers – Where is the Capital Going?', speaking to our investment in Grosvenor Place and recent acquisitions of 50% interests in Sunshine Plaza and Macarthur Square, and why high-quality real estate in the right markets remains well-positioned to outperform and attract capital. Thank you to ANREV and The Australian Financial Review for the opportunity to contribute to both discussions.
