  • “What I find most fulfilling about working in digital money management is the purpose behind it: using technology to help Australians navigate everyday money decisions with confidence and make progress towards the goals that matter to them. I also love the opportunity to constantly learn. Product is a team sport, and every day I get to work alongside talented people with different perspectives, learning together and finding better ways to solve the most meaningful problems for our customers. A recent proud moment was launching Insights in the CommBank app; a refreshed experience that brings together spending, saving, upcoming bills and investing in one clearer view. For many customers, understanding their money still takes too much effort: looking across accounts, keeping track of bills, and piecing together where their money has gone. Insights makes that simpler, helping customers see what’s coming in, where their money is going and how they’re progressing, in a view that can align with their pay cycle. The moment it really came to life for me was seeing friends, family and colleagues discover and use it. There’s something special about watching months of designs, decisions and complexity become something simple and useful in the hands of someone you know.   What excites me most is how we’re evolving digital banking beyond helping customers transact, to helping them make sense of their money in the moments that matter. For our team, that isn’t about building more features. It’s about staying close to customers, understanding what they need, learning from what we put into their hands, and using technology thoughtfully to help them achieve the financial outcomes they care about the most.” Rachel Jiang – Product Manager (Digital Money Management)

  • "After several years as a full-time Mum, returning to the corporate world felt daunting. CommBank’s Career Comeback Program gave me the support, confidence, and bridge I needed to rebuild my career. I feel valued for the unique perspective and life experience I bring. I’m excited to apply my communication and analytical skills as I transition into the financial crime space as a Fraud Operations Analyst at CBA. Helping someone who has been impacted by a scam is deeply rewarding. Behind every transaction is a real person’s savings, livelihood, or peace of mind. Knowing that a single verification check or real-time intervention can stop a scam or provide reassurance during a stressful moment makes the work immensely meaningful. Scams today are incredibly sophisticated and fast moving. Bad actors thrive on secrecy and urgency. Openly discussing scam tactics with family and friends removes the stigma around falling for one and helps build a stronger layer of defence for our entire community. Always remember to stop, check and question unexpected requests, especially anything asking for urgent transfers, account details, or access to your devices. Never hesitate to call the bank directly through trusted official channels if something feels off.” - Shree Mantri, Fraud Operations Analyst This Scams Awareness Week, 24–28 August 2026, have a conversation about scams. If something is suspicious, check-in and stop the stigma on scams. Remember to Stop. Check. Reject.

  • "What I love most about my role is turning ideas into real experiences that customers can use in their everyday lives.   One of the initiatives I'm most proud of is Dine In Deals, an Australian banking-first dining experience we've launched in the CommBank app in collaboration with EatClub. It's exciting to be part of a team that's continuing to redefine what customers can expect from their banking app - not just helping them manage their money, but to get more value from their everyday spending.   What makes this work especially meaningful to me is the impact it can have for both customers and hospitality businesses. With cost of living still front of mind for many Australians, even small savings can make a meaningful difference. At the same time, we're connecting more diners with cafés, bars and restaurants during quieter periods, helping venues fill spare capacity while introducing customers to new places to discover and enjoy.   One of the things I loved most about working on Dine In Deals was how focused we stayed on making the experience feel effortless for customers. Behind the scenes, there was a lot of complexity to solve, but our goal was always simple: create a experience that feels intuitive and seamlessly fits into customers' lives.   I'm excited by the opportunity to keep building experiences that go beyond traditional banking. Whether it's helping customers save money or discover new ways to get more value from their everyday spending, I think we're only scratching the surface of what's possible, and I believe CommBank has the scale, talent and ambition to bring those ideas to life."   - Nadia Hatif, Senior Product Manager

  • “When I joined CommBank as a Graduate in 2024, I genuinely didn't think corporate life was going to be my thing. Fast forward a couple of years later and here I am, often laughing (loudly) across the office, snacking on cheese and crackers, and spending my days talking about merchants, new features, and lots of technology. I joined the Business Banking Graduate Program because it genuinely seemed like a great opportunity with multiple rotations - perfect for me, as someone who wasn’t really sure what they wanted to do straight out of university. Over the last couple of years, I've had the chance to work on a suite of awesome products eventually becoming a Product Analyst working in eCommerce as an online shopper, this has been incredibly exciting! I’ve really loved developing my technical skills while staying close to customer needs, collaborating with different teams, and learning from each conversation to help shape solutions that make a real impact. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with incredible minds across the country, specifically on a short-term project with people from Sydney, Melbourne, Wagga and Bunbury. After a successful project, we have since travelled interstate together, gone on an international trip, and are already planning another one for next year. Not bad for a group who originally met through a work project! For anyone thinking about joining CommBank through a graduate or internship program, I'd say this: Ask questions. Lots of them. I've found people here are incredibly generous with their knowledge, and curiosity is always welcomed. As for me, I'm excited to keep learning, keep building, and keep working on products that solve real customer problems. I am still relatively new to the company but am so excited to take advantage of the many opportunities I see available.” Clara Atkin - Online Solutions Product Analyst

  • CommBank handed down its FY26 financial results earlier today, with CEO Matt Comyn thanking employees for their hard work.   “I always want to start by thanking all of our hardworking team members. It's never lost on us that we're representing the bank and really representing the hard work of all our people.”   Comyn noted the bank had seen strong performance right across its business units.   “It’s the first time ever that CBA has grown at or above system in retail lending, retail deposits, business lending, business deposits and consumer finance,” Comyn said.   “And we did that without sacrificing margin.”   Looking to FY27, Comyn said: “We see the economy slowing at the moment, but still in positive growth.”   “We can also see a lot of areas of strength — the labour market and a lot of investment in infrastructure.”   He said CommBank remained optimistic about Australia’s long-term prospects and would continue supporting customers through the more challenging conditions.   “Notwithstanding the more difficult start to the year, we feel there’s a path through,” he said.   “That’s our job: to support customers, provide reassurance and confidence, and keep supporting them through.”

  • “For most of my career, I had a fairly traditional view of success. Work hard, take on bigger challenges, and keep climbing. Before joining CommBank, I spent more than 15 years working across treasury, finance and risk roles. I enjoyed simplifying and solving complex problems, partnering across businesses, C-Suite and Boards and contributing to strategic outcomes. Over time, I built deep experience and expertise and was fortunate to be involved in significant projects, business transformations and transactions. Then life took an unexpected turn. When my son required significant care, my priorities shifted quickly and I stepped away from my career to support my family. At the time, I wasn't thinking about what returning to work would look like. My focus was simply on where I was needed most. A few years later, when I started considering a return to work, I realised something... My confidence hadn't kept pace with my experience. I wondered how much had changed, how steep the learning curve would be, and whether there was still a place for someone returning after a break and looking to work part-time. What I found through CommBank's Career Comeback Program was an organisation that saw value in experience while recognising that careers don't always follow a straight line. We were paired with career coaches and given access to professional development opportunities that represented a genuine investment in us as individuals. Together, they helped me rebuild confidence, challenge some of the self-doubt that can creep in after time away and recognise that the skills and experience I'd built over many years were still relevant and valuable. One of the biggest surprises has been how much of what you've learnt over a career stays with you. The industry may be different, but skills like judgement, problem solving, communication and relationship building remain incredibly valuable. A highlight has been joining Treasury Finance at CommBank and working alongside supportive leaders and colleagues who have been generous with their time, knowledge and encouragement. I've been able to learn an entirely new industry while contributing to meaningful projects that add value to the business. My advice to anyone considering applying is simple, don't underestimate the value of the experience you've built over time. A career break may change your perspective, but it doesn't diminish your capability. Looking back, this journey has been less about coming back, and more about building forward with a different perspective.” Kelly Murray - Senior Manager, Treasury Finance

  • “After 682 donations, I know you don’t need to wear a uniform to save a life. Sometimes, you just need to roll up your sleeves. I made my first blood donation at 18, shortly after enlisting in the army in Zimbabwe. Following our passing-out parade, we were taken on a surprise trip to the local blood donor centre and strongly encouraged to donate. What began as an instruction soon became a lifelong commitment. Today, I have made 682 donations and have a standing appointment at the donor centre every second Tuesday. It is a non-negotiable part of my routine, and something I genuinely look forward to. I’m proud to work at CommBank, where blood donation is not only celebrated, but supported. Through volunteer leave, encouragement from our leaders and our involvement in the Financial Services Blood Drive, our people are given the opportunity to turn good intentions into action. For this year's drive, we're aiming to increase our contribution from 1,308 donations in 2025 to 1,500 donations in 2026. One in three Australians will need donated blood in their lifetime, but only one in 30 actually donates. You don’t need to work for the police, fire brigade or SES to help save a life. By rolling up your sleeve, you can give someone the chance to celebrate another birthday, another Christmas and more time with the people they love”. Gary Shaw, Senior Trade and Working Capital Specialist.

  • “Every day, I see the genuine difference our people make in customers’ lives, whether it’s helping someone take their first holiday in years or achieve their dream of owning a home. Knowing we play a small part in those important moments is what motivates me. Premier Banking is about helping customers make confident financial decisions. We do that by building trusted relationships and partnering with customers through every stage of their financial journey, helping them navigate important life moments with clarity and confidence. One of the initiatives I’m most proud of has been evolving our Premier Relationship Management model to better meet our customers’ changing needs. By investing in technology and strengthening the way we engage with customers, our Relationship Managers have better insights and tools to deliver more personalised, proactive support when it matters most. It’s a great example of how combining great people with great technology creates better outcomes for customers. Recently, I was honoured to be recognised as an AFR BOSS Young Executive. It's an incredible privilege and I also see it as recognition of the broader team's work - none of these achievements happen individually. They're the result of strong collaboration, shared ambition and a collective focus on delivering for our customers. I’m excited by the opportunity to continue combining great people with technology to create even more personalised experiences for our customers. If we can make financial decisions feel simpler, more relevant and more accessible, we'll help even more Australians feel confident about their financial future.”     Aaron Bergstrum - State Manager Premier Banking

  • “NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I always value the opportunity to get along to community events, listen, learn and connect with mob. It's also a chance to recognise the generations of people who have worked tirelessly to preserve culture, advocate for change and create opportunities for those who follow. For me, it's a celebration of the world's oldest continuing culture – something that's uniquely Australian. The work I do at CommBank is challenging, but it's also the most rewarding of my career. I genuinely believe we have an opportunity to create meaningful economic change for First Nations peoples by improving financial wellbeing, supporting vulnerable customers and helping more First Nations families achieve home ownership. One initiative I'm particularly proud of is helping to expand the My Money Dream program with the First Nations Foundation. Developed by First Nations peoples, for First Nations peoples, the program builds confidence and capability with money through practical, self-paced learning.  Seeing the program reach more First Nations customers through our branches, contact centres, digital channels and Indigenous Business Banking has been incredibly rewarding. During a visit to Palm Island as part of implementing our First Nations Reach Program, I saw first-hand the impact of travelling to remote communities to support customers with their banking needs. It reinforced why this work matters and the lasting difference it can make. Looking ahead, I'm excited by the momentum we're building across CommBank in financial inclusion and accessibility for all customers. By continuing to strengthen partnerships and improve access to financial services, we have a real opportunity to make a difference at scale.”    Kyle Leong - Senior Manager Retail Banking Indigenous Engagement
