ZeroBin

This product is inspired by PrivateBin (https://privatebin.info/),

an open-source zero-knowledge pastebin licensed under the zlib/libpng license.

ZeroBin is a clean-room reimplementation. The backend API is written from

scratch in TypeScript for Cloudflare Workers. The frontend is built from

scratch using Svelte and Tailwind CSS. No code from PrivateBin was copied

or modified — only the encryption protocol specification (AES-256-GCM with

PBKDF2 key derivation) was reimplemented for API compatibility.

The encryption protocol used by ZeroBin is based on the PrivateBin v2

format specification, which defines:

- AES-256-GCM symmetric encryption

- PBKDF2-SHA256 key derivation (100,000 iterations)

- Base58 key encoding in URL fragments

- zlib compression of plaintext before encryption
