Organization - User with password cannot be linked to IDP #41851

Hi all,

I have a question regarding linking an existing user to IDP via organization.
If user has set password, keycloak would not redirect user to IDP, but if existing user didn't set password, keycloak would redirect to IDP.

I'm running into a similar or the same thing. I'm adding organizations to an existing keycloak realm that has many existing users.

The current behavior that I'm seeing is:

User exists in keycloak with a credential (password)
New organization is created and linked to an IDP, organization domain matches the existing user
User enters their email to login
User is prompted for their KC password instead of being redirected to IDP.

My desired behavior is:

[same-as-above] User exists in keycloak with a credential (password)
[same-as-above] New organization is created and linked to an IDP, organization domain matches the existing user
[same-as-above] User enters their email to login
User is redirected to IDP, logs in, redirected back to KC
User is prompted to link to the existing user, and is prompted for the existing user password
