Hello,
I'm trying to port my micrometer metrics from Wildfly distribution over to Quarkus, specifically 18.0.0. Most of them work as i expect, but there's one i have unexpected trouble with - GC pauses.
The usual way to meter GC pauses would be to subscribe to
javax.management.NotificationListenerevents from every existingGarbageCollectorMXBean. That's what micrometer and smallrye both do, anyway. Here's a convenient example how to do it: Consider something like this: https://gist.github.com/donaldh/801a8d96fb4b41c92633.However, for some reason it just doesn't work for me with Keycloak on Quarkus.
On my other Quarkus microservice i do get GC pause notifications every once in a while, but not from Keycloak. And yeah, i registered the
spiproperly, debug logs listMXBeansand the fact that listeners are being registered, but somehow never ever fire.I've googled around and found some open issues on Quarkus about
MxBeans, but they were all about GraamVM. As far as i can tell, Keycloak is running on HotSpot, so it shouldn't be a problem, right? Is there something about Keycloak on Quarkus specifically that might interfere with
NotificationListeners?All reactions
