Quarkus - Custom Identity provider plugin - store attributes across requests #15941

Keycloak beginner here - I am attempting to upgrade a custom identity provider which previously stored/retrieved some endpoint state in the HttpSession object provided by HttpServletRequest like so:

@Path("/collect")
public Response collect(@Context HttpServletRequest request) {

    if (request.getSession().getAttribute("bankid.authresponse") != null) {

    String orderref = ((AuthResponse) request.getSession().getAttribute("bankid.authresponse")).getOrderRef();

Since this is not available any longer, how can one achieve a similar behaviour running under Quarkus? Please note that certain attributes need to be kept secret from the client, so sending them in the Response is unsuitable.
