Task

slice size difficulty model who estimated lines
Inspect specs and types M routine standard an agent 340 (220 code, 120 tests)

min type list shows every type with its source, and min type show shows a type's defaults and constraints.

Covers:

  • BCLI-019
  • BCLI-020

Layers:

  • client:
    • crates/minimal/src/cmd/types.rs (new): min type list and min type show <name> with the source of every value
    • crates/minimal/src/cmd/mod.rs: dispatches the verb
    • crates/minimal/src/cli.rs: the verb's arguments and help in the one command model
    • crates/minimal/src/tests.rs: the in-process minimald test harness gains this layer's tests
    • cargo nextest run -p minimal type_list_shows_builtin_and_project_types_with_source
    • cargo nextest run -p minimal type_show_matches_shipped_table_with_sources

Held by the maintainer (2026-11-04): min type list|show needs the built-in Box Types as data (BOX-059, BOX T22 #2420) and the per-value type source (BOX-161, BOX T16 #2410). This task waits on both.

### T19 — List and show the box types
  slice: S5
  kind: task
  covers: BCLI-019, BCLI-020
  size: M
  est: 220 code, 120 tests
  executor: agent
  difficulty: routine
  model: standard
diagnostics: `min type list` prints each type with its source, "builtin" or "project", pinned by type_list_shows_builtin_and_project_types_with_source
observability: the command's existing tracing span records the verb, the box id it resolved and the outcome
  layers:
    - client:
      - crates/minimal/src/cmd/types.rs (new): `min type list` and `min type show <name>` with the source of every value
      - crates/minimal/src/cmd/mod.rs: dispatches the verb
      - crates/minimal/src/cli.rs: the verb's arguments and help in the one command model
      - crates/minimal/src/tests.rs: the in-process minimald test harness gains this layer's tests
test: cargo nextest run -p minimal type_list_shows_builtin_and_project_types_with_source
test: cargo nextest run -p minimal type_show_matches_shipped_table_with_sources
  produces:
    - crates/minimal/src/cmd/types.rs (entry point)
  consumes:
    - crates/minimal/src/cmd/output.rs
proof: `min type list` shows every type with its source, and `min type show` shows a type's defaults and constraints.

The coder changed nothing: noop: the task cannot be done inside its layers at this branch head. The task says 'blocked by #2891', and that dependency did not land. (1) No code holds the six built-in Box Types as data (BOX-059) or resolves project types. crates/boxes/src/lib.rs has only SESSION_BOX_TYPE and TASK_BOX_TYPE string constants, and no crate mentions agent, service, build or container-build types. (2) No code names the type that supplies a value (BOX-161), so min type show has no source to show for each value. (3) BCLI-020 binds the output to 'the architecture's table of built-in types'. That table is not in this repository: docs/architecture.md has 251 lines and no types table, and no doc outside the specs mentions exec_enabled or on_oom. To write the command, I must invent the type defaults and constraints in crates/minimal/src/cmd/types.rs. That puts the type model in the client, outside the boxes crate where it belongs, and the test type_show_matches_shipped_table_with_sources would co…[truncated]. No pull request was opened.
