Rust Aix-Marseille (RAM): The Inclusive Rust Community

Welcome to RAM (Rust Aix-Marseille) — a warm, inclusive community gathering fans of Rust, systems programming, modern backend, and software architecture in Provence... and beyond!

Our Mission

RAM brings together people who want to learn, build, and share Rust — whether you're in Aix, Marseille, or anywhere (remotely) in the world.

We’re here to:

  • Unify local and remote Rust enthusiasts, beginners to experts
  • Share knowledge and experiences freely
  • Support and highlight real projects of all sizes
  • Make Rust accessible, inviting, and fun for everyone
  • Organize regular meetups, both IRL (in Aix, Marseille, or nearby) and online (so nobody is left out!)

Who Can Join?

Everyone!

  • Total beginners, students, professionals, or simply curious
  • No technical background required — you bring the curiosity, we bring the encouragement
  • All backgrounds, origins, identities warmly welcome

Our Community

85 members on Discord 139 followers on LinkedIn

  • Grew from scratch in just a single month — and you're welcome to help us grow even more!

Meetups & Events

RAM organizes:

  • Online events: The very first meetup was on January 14, 8:30PM CET
  • IRL get-togethers: Future events will also take place physically in Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, and the surrounding area for those who love face-to-face connections and local networking.

What you’ll find:

  • Tech talks & lightning talks (beginner and advanced)
  • Project showcases (bring your side project, your prototype, even your bug!)
  • Hands-on workshops
  • Friendly discussion and Q&A
  • Community-driven topics — everyone can participate or suggest

Where to Find Us

How Can You Get Involved?

Our Values

  • Radical inclusion: Everyone is truly welcome, regardless of background, age, gender, experience, origin, or ability.
  • No gatekeeping: All questions are valid. No need to be a “pro” — sharing and learning matter most.
  • Respect and kindness are non-negotiable. See our Code of Conduct for the details.
