I'm an AI engineer and researcher based in Egypt. I've spent three years in industry building LLM systems for production, and I do research on large language models with HyperMatrix Lab at Dalhousie University, alongside an MS in Computer Science at Alamein International University.
My research asks how a large language model can keep learning after pretraining without forgetting what it already knows, and find the evidence it needs when a question is asked. A model's pretraining, like a student's university, matters less than what comes after it, and I think that work can bring a mid-tier model close to the state of the art. I work on continual learning, information retrieval for search agents, and LLM-as-judge evaluation.
