The VEED API Is Now Self-Serve: From Sign-Up to First Job Without a Sales Call

No items found.

The VEED API is now self-serve. Since 30 September 2026, anyone with a VEED account can sign in at api.veed.io, buy credits, create an API key, and run AI video jobs from their own code without a sales call or an enterprise contract. VEED is the AI video creation platform that grows your brand on social. You sign in, add credits, generate a key, run a job, and see what it costs in a dashboard you control.

You have more video to make than hours to make it, and the shapes keep repeating. You need a presenter clip for every product update, the same explainer revoiced for four markets, and a weekly series where only the audio changes. Until now, the only way to automate that with VEED was a sales conversation, a contract, and a wait, and for a team of one or two, that was never going to happen.

Self-serve access runs alongside the enterprise API, which stays as it is. If you already have an enterprise agreement, nothing changes for you. If you don't, you no longer need one to get started.

Key takeaways:

  • The VEED API is self-serve. Sign in at api.veed.io with your VEED account, and create your own key in minutes.
  • Credits are prepaid. $1 buys 100 credits, and you top up between $10 and $1,000 at a time.
  • Jobs are charged against your balance when they finish, and failed jobs are refunded automatically.
  • The dashboard shows every job, what it costs, and your remaining balance.
  • Enterprise API access continues alongside self-serve for teams that need custom terms.

What is the VEED API?

The VEED API is the programmatic way to use VEED's AI video models from your own code. You send a job with a public media URL and a few parameters, and VEED returns a finished file. The API covers Fabric 1.0 for turning an image and an audio track into a talking video, Lip Sync 2.0 for re-syncing existing footage to new audio, and video background removal and clean audio, with subtitles coming soon. Until 30 September 2026, that was only available through an enterprise contract. Now it is open to anyone with a VEED account.

Key features now available for self-serve:

  • Self-serve key creation: Sign in at api.veed.io with your VEED account, and create your own keys from the dashboard.
  • Prepaid API credits: $1 buys 100 credits, in whole-dollar purchases from $10 to $1,000 at a time. Jobs are charged against your balance when they complete, and you only ever spend credits you have bought.
  • Automatic refunds for failed jobs: An estimate is held when a job starts and replaced by the real cost when it finishes. If the job fails, the credits come back.
  • Activity and billing dashboard: Every job, what it cost, your top-up history, and your balance in one place.
  • AI video models by API: Fabric 1.0, Lip Sync 2.0, video background removal, and clean audio, the same models enterprise customers use.

Most of what the API saves is the part you were doing by hand. If you have been dropping a photo and a voice track into the editor to make a talking-head clip or re-syncing the same video to a new voiceover for each market, you have probably been doing it one clip at a time in a browser tab. With the API, you set that job up once, and your own system runs it as many times as you need. Then you bring the results into VEED to add your branding and subtitles, and you adjust them until they look like your brand made them.

Credits matter because you do not have to negotiate anything before you know whether the API works for you. Top up $10, run a few jobs, see what they cost, and decide from there.

Pricing: The self-serve VEED API runs on prepaid API credits, which are separate from your editor plan and its AI credits. Each model has its own rate, listed on the VEED API page and in the cost section below.

How do you get a VEED API key?

Getting a VEED API key takes five steps: sign in at api.veed.io, buy credits, create a key, run a job, and check the dashboard. The whole flow runs through your VEED account.

  1. Go to api.veed.io, and sign in with your VEED account. This creates your API workspace, which is separate from the workspaces you edit videos in.
  2. Buy credits under Billing. $1 buys 100 credits, and each purchase is a whole-dollar amount from $10 to $1,000. Start small, because you can top up at any time.
  3. Create your API key. Store it somewhere safe, and treat it like a password.
  4. Run your first job, either from the playground in the dashboard or from your own code. The endpoint reference is in the VEED API documentation.
  5. Check the dashboard. Activity and the request log show each job and what it cost, and billing shows your spend and balance.

If you want to see what VEED generates before you write any code, try the AI video generator in the browser first. For endpoint details and code examples, read the VEED video API guide.

Who is the self-serve VEED API for?

The self-serve VEED API is for anyone who makes the same kind of video repeatedly and does not have an enterprise contract. That usually means the marketer who owns social video alone, the founder who is also the marketing team, or the developer adding video to a product.

The stretched marketing generalist

You own social video across several channels, and there is nobody behind you. A presenter clip for every product update. The same explainer re-voiced for four markets. A customer story that needs the background cleaned up before it goes on the feed.

Set the job up once, then let the API run it as many times as you need. Point it at the folder or spreadsheet where your images, audio, and footage already live, and the clips come back while you work on the ones that actually need you. Then bring them into VEED, add your branding, generate subtitles, and shape each one until it looks like yours.

The founder doing everything

You are building a product, and you are also supposed to be posting about it. Those two jobs compete for the same hours, and posting usually loses.

With the API, video can be embedded in the product you are already building. Record one voice note, pair it with your headshot, and let Fabric 1.0 turn it into a talking clip. Re-sync last month's update video to this month's audio with Lip Sync 2.0 instead of filming it again. Your system makes the video, and you approve it before it goes anywhere.

The developer adding video to a product

Your users want video, and you would rather not build a generation pipeline from scratch. Call the VEED API from your backend with a media URL and a few parameters, poll for the result, and get a finished file back. Because usage is prepaid, you do not incur a fixed cost until the feature has users.

How is self-serve different from enterprise VEED API access?

Self-serve is for teams that want to start today and pay as they go. Enterprise is for organizations that need custom volume, contract terms, and dedicated support. Both use the same VEED API. The difference is how you get access and how you pay.

Self-serve VEED API Enterprise VEED API
Who it is for Solo marketers, founders, small teams, and developers testing an integration Larger organizations with high or predictable volume
How you get access Sign in at api.veed.io, and create a key yourself Sales conversation and contract
Pricing model Prepaid credits, $10 to $1,000 per top-up Billed in arrears against a commitment
Minimum commitment None Negotiated
Time to first request Minutes Set up with the sales team
Spending control You can only spend credits you have bought Per contract
Rate limits Standard per-customer limits Higher limits available

If you are not sure which one you need, start with self-serve. Your dashboard will tell you when your volume is big enough to be worth a conversation, and at that point you can talk to the enterprise team.

What does the VEED API cost?

The self-serve VEED API uses a pay-as-you-go model. $1 buys 100 credits—you top up between $10 and $1,000 at a time, and each job is charged against your balance only once it completes. There is no subscription and no minimum commitment.

  • Buying credits: Whole-dollar purchases from $10 to $1,000, made under Billing in the API dashboard. Prices exclude tax.
  • How a job is charged: An estimate is held when the job starts and replaced by the real cost when it finishes. A failed job is refunded automatically.
  • Starting a job: You need at least $1 of credits, or enough to cover the job, to start one. If your balance goes negative, jobs that are already running finish and are charged, and you top up before starting new ones.
  • Per-model rates: Listed on the VEED API page and below.

Where is the self-serve VEED API available?

Self-serve VEED API access opened on 30 September 2026 for any VEED account. Usage is billed per job, and each model has its own rate.

  • Plans: Any VEED account. API usage runs in a separate API workspace with its own keys, credits, and request log, so an editor subscription or AI credits do not cover API jobs. The API is for business and professional use, including individual developers, and you must be 18 or over to use it.
  • Regions: [confirm: region availability]
  • Rate limits: Per-customer rate limits apply. Contact sales for higher limits or volume pricing.
  • Documentation: api.veed.io/docs

Do I need an enterprise contract to use the VEED API?

No. Since 30 September 2026, the VEED API has been self-serve. You sign in at api.veed.io with your VEED account, buy credits, and create your own key. Enterprise contracts are still available for teams that need custom volume and terms.

How does VEED API pricing work?

The self-serve VEED API runs on prepaid API credits, separate from your editor plan. $1 buys 100 credits, and you can top up between $10 and $1,000 at a time. Each job is charged against your balance when it completes, and failed jobs are refunded automatically. Rates per model are on the VEED API page.

What happens if I run out of VEED API credits?

You need at least $1 of credits, or enough to cover the job, to start one. If your balance goes negative, jobs already running finish and are charged, and you top up in billing before starting new ones. There are no overage charges beyond that.

What can I generate with the VEED API?

The VEED API covers Fabric 1.0 (a talking video from an image and an audio track), Lip Sync 2.0 (re-syncing existing footage to new audio), video background removal, and clean audio. Subtitles is listed as coming soon.

Can I use the VEED API inside my own product?

Yes. Call the API from your backend to generate videos for your users, or trigger clips from events in your product. Usage is prepaid, so there is no fixed cost before the feature has traction.

Is there a free tier for the VEED API?

No. Self-serve API credits are prepaid, and a new API workspace starts with the credits you buy. The smallest top-up is $10, which is 1,000 credits. Rates per model are on the VEED API page.
