Sarah Manesse is a French singer-songwriter, musician (guitar), dancer and actor.
Her atypical journey started in Japan, with her first contract as a singer in the ice skating shows Dreams on Ice and Ice Jewelry, performed in front of 5000 people in 2009.
Sarah trained for 4 years at the National Music School in Villeurbanne, France, where she chose the Rock Department to improve her singing, guitar and composition skills.
After graduating, she was curious to try the talent show "X Factor" (France). The viewers voted Sarah Manesse among the top four finalists in 2011.
Taking dance classes since the age of 5, starting with 10 years of Ballet, Jazz and Hip-Hop with the incredible Mia Frye, Sarah gained her first role in a musical in 2012 playing Sister Mary Robert in Stage Entertainment France & Whoopi Goldberg’s production of Sister Act in Paris at the Mogador theatre.
After meeting her in their master-class in Paris The Broadway composers Pasek & Paul dubbed Sarah Manesse ‘The Mirage’ , and asked her to be their guest at the Hippodrome Casino in London the 21st October 2013.
Thirsty to be on stage as much as possible, Sarah decided to improve her triple threat qualities at the ICMT of London, in the musical theatre 1 year program. Whilst there, Sarah performed as Karen in the play The Children’s Hour directed by Ryan Forde Iosco, and as Cinderella in the musical Into the Woods directed by Mark Goldthorp.
Her credits include Johanna in Sweeney Todd directed by Olivier Bénézech, produced by La clef des Chants (Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France); Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Emmanuel Dell'Erba produced by Ars Lyrica (Belgium); and Pink lady Marty/ cover of Rizzo in Grease in Paris back at the Mogador theatre.
With her powerful, expressive voice, Sarah Manesse took on the role of Glamour Girl in the VIVID Grand Show on the world’s biggest theatre stage the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin in 2018-2020.
Sarah recorded her first album "The Mirage" in New York with Doug Yowell (drummer of Suzanne Vega, Duncan Sheik...)and mixed the songs with Mark Plati (musician and producer of David Bowie...).It was released on October 2021. More info on the music page!
2022-2023: Sarah joined la Compagnie du Hanneton for the creation of James Thierrée "ROOM". The show went on an international tour with 6 musicians, 2 dancers, actors and technicians and finished the tour with great success at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.
The Cirque du Soleil contacted Sarah to put on the lead White Singer's costume of ALEGRIA in 2024 for the European Tour; she started at the Royal ALbert Hall and continued in Spain until the 11th of December 24.
2025 is a year of creativity and personal work with a beautiful project coming soon: "The REAL MIRAGE" : a live cabaret show with 4 musicians at the Phoenix Arts Club on Monday the 25th og August at 6.15pm.
Upon hearing her sing for the first time, my collaborator and I started calling her “The Mirage” because we didn’t quite believe she was real.
