🎨 Walls For Justice x Founders Alley Philadelphia art is important to Sam Rodriguez because it captures the authenticity of our city — the people and the stories that make this place unique. From murals that celebrate our neighborhoods to works that honor our sports teams and local heroes, the art becomes a living expression of who we are. The art here reminds me that we’re part of something bigger. To me, Philly art isn’t just local — it’s a bond that unites us all. That belief is what inspired me to start Walls For Justice in the summer of 2020. Amidst a time of civil unrest and pain, following the killings of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and others, I wanted to protest — but in a way that could build hope. With a paintbrush in hand, I began painting unifying social justice messages on the plywood boards covering storefronts across Philadelphia. What began as a simple act of expression quickly grew into something powerful. Passersby wanted to help paint. Businesses asked for messages of support. Our art became a symbol of resilience and connection. When the plywood eventually came down, I realized that this work — and this mission — had only just begun. 🎯 Our Mission: Walls for Justice exists to empower and elevate the platforms of social movements, communities, people of color, and all marginalized groups through murals, beautification projects, demonstrations, and creative collaboration. I’m proud to bring this vision to Founders Alley, where art, entrepreneurship, and purpose collide. Because as founders, we alley on community, creativity, and the power to make change together.
