What Do You REALLY REALLY REALLY Want?

What Do You REALLY REALLY REALLY Want?

Welcome to TCAE Secret Sauce Newsletter! I have decided to create this newsletter to help, inspire and share my success and failure stories and all the lessons learnt throughout my career journey in Compliance & AML and building my first business TCAE.

At this time of year, I usually sit down and write all my goals and create my vision board for next year. I have done this for the past 6 years and I thought to share it with you too.

Many of you have asked me how I created TCAE and what is the secret sauce behind it and I could say, Goal Setting was the #1 thing that I truly believe helped me achieve so many of my personal and professional achievements.

I want to challenge you all to set your goals for 2022.

Step 1: Write Down Your Goals

Sit down in a quiet space and write down what do you REALLY REALLY REALLY want to achieve this year?

Is it buying a house, or getting a promotion, changing your job or getting a certificate?

Let your mind wander and fantasize. Write down all that comes to your mind.

Be clear and detailed as much as possible. Ask yourself ...

  • What type of house? Where should it be? How do you want it to look like? What is the colour of the door?
  • What type of certificate do you want to get? Why do you want this certificate to compare to another one?
  • What is my dream job? How many people are working with me? Where will I be working? office or home? What is the salary that I want to have? Whom I want my boss to be? What type of work environment and culture are you looking for?

Step 2: How do you FEEL about your goals?

One of the exercises that I emphasize with our TCAE Study Group students when they want to achieve their  CAMS  or  CFCS  certification is to write down how they feel when they are at the end of the exam and see their results on the screen.

  • How do you feel when you see the "Pass"?
  • Whom would you like to call and tell them about this wonderful news?
  • How do you feel in your body when you see your certificate?

This is the best technique to connect with your goal emotionally in order to achieve it.

Step 3: Picture Your Goals

You need to create mental and physical images of your goals.

Take 5-10 mins a day to visualize your goals in your mind. This will help you create a mental picture in your mind. My mentor Hina Khan and Bob Proctor helped me visualize and get into this habit and create a mental frame of the goals that I want to achieve.

If you are a visual person like me, a vision board is also your best friend. Spend time on finding the pictures of what you really want from the Google images and create your board.

You can use Canva (my best friend!) if you like to create your vision board electronically.

Disclaimer: There are many ways that you can set your goals, these points were the ones I used to achieve mine. Setting goals will not guarantee you the result, You need to take action towards your goals to achieve them.

At the beginning of December, I have asked all my team at TCAE to write down their goals for 2022 and discuss them 1-1 with me. I really enjoyed seeing all their amazing goals and can't wait to celebrate their accomplishments.

For those in my network in Compliance and AML who accept this challenge to set their goal and are committed to achieving them, I can be your accountability partner and help you achieve your goals.

Wish you all a wonderful 2022 full of health, prosperity, love and joy!
