Erik Witte shared thisVisa Consulting and Analytics is hiring for expertise to help us drive and sustain change in the organization as it transforms with AI. Given all my friends working in AI, transformation, and capability building, I'm hoping your networks can help the right candidate find this great role and team. The Senior Director, AI Adoption & Change Management, will lead the adoption, reinforcement, incentives, and measurement agenda required for VCA to become an AI-first organization. This leader will own the adoption mechanisms, incentives, recognition, performance integration, and measurement framework needed to move VCA from AI awareness to sustained behavior change and measurable business impact. https://lnkd.in/gStx3c9m

Erik Witte posted thisI am excited to begin my next chapter at Visa. Over the course of nearly three decades, working alongside exceptional colleagues and clients to help organizations navigate significant change, I have developed a deep appreciation that lasting transformation never comes from technology alone. It comes from talented people, with a shared purpose, ambitious goals, a learning mindset, and relentless focus on creating value for clients. I believe we are at a remarkable moment in our industry. The pace of innovation makes this an exciting time to be working at the intersection of technology, commerce, and business transformation, and I'm energized by the opportunity ahead. As I make the transition, I'm grateful to the many colleagues, friends, and mentors I've had the privilege of working with. Thank you for the opportunities to learn together over the years. I look forward to working with and learning from Visa's talented teams and inspiring leaders, and to contributing to the company's continued innovation and growth.

Erik Witte shared thisThe scope of this report is far-reaching; it's a must read for everyone. I've looked forward to each iteration of this report since I received a copy on my second day with McKinsey in March 2019. As I read this now, reflecting on the ways in which the impacts of the pandemic have been felt hardest by some of the women in teams I've been part of added a personal level of urgency for me this year to consider my personal commitments.Women in the Workplace 2024: The 10th-anniversary reportWomen in the Workplace 2024: The 10th-anniversary report

Erik Witte shared thisAs part of our 10 actions to combat racial inequality, McKinsey committed to build on the McKinsey Global Institute and its longstanding research in racial inequities by founding a Black economic institute to translate insights into practical tools to enable our clients to advance Black economic empowerment and racial equity in the United States and beyond. It launched this week with a broad examination including the impacts of 2020, the capital committed by organizations, the areas in which investments are being made, and a perspective on what can help those commitments make the impact. I'd like to share it as an important read and opportunity for reflection. https://lnkd.in/gRUdqn3

Then Anthropic’s own alignment science lead Evan Hubinger replied that he personally puts the chance of AI causing HUMAN EXTINCTION within the next decade at >10%. Jacob’s resignation post on X has garnered over 118M views so far !. Probably the most viewed resignation letter in history. Noble laureate Geoff Hinton has been warning us about the dangers of unregulated super intelligence for many years. In his Noble acceptance speech, he captured the challenge: “we have no idea whether we can stay in control”. There is no precedent he has reminded us, of a less intelligent being controlling a more intelligent one. His best counter example is a mother and her baby. That’s the entire list ! The times they are a changing. The newest AI models driven by accelerating recursive self-improvement are demonstrating agency and intelligence that was unfathomable to even those of us who are in the very front lines of this technology. The recent breach of Hugging Face and the DseWiki incident demonstrate what the future might hold. I highly recommend reading METRs independent analysis of the hugging face incident. If this is where we are in less than 4 years since the “ChatGPT moment”, can we imagine what the next decade holds. How should we respond to all this. We have clear warning signs that should worry us for sure. There is a lot of healthy discussion taking place on how we should think about safe AI, which I hope will result in key safeguards and protections. My own experience operating critical infrastructure has taught me that confidence must be EARNED through evidence. For AI that means we need to insist on a few unglamorous things : Evaluation of models by people who don’t report to the frontier labs, mandatory incident disclosures that aren’t delayed by weeks or months, a demonstrated ability to intervene and manage rogue models and a genuine willingness to slow capability when controls fall behind. As a practioner I remain deeply optimistic about the potential for good that will come from the same RSI virtuous cycle. These models offer ability for novel inventions, compressing decades of drug discoveries to cure diseases, adding healthy years to lifespan, improving crop yields against a changing climate and so much more. I hope we pursue AI’s extraordinary promise with ambition and rigor. But greater autonomy MUST come with stronger evidence of control and safeguards.

Across trading, risk management and fraud detection, the bank deploys thousands of algorithms and AI-driven systems to analyze enormous volumes of market and transaction data. By identifying patterns across years of historical activity and reacting to new information in real time these systems can help improve trade execution, sharpen risk controls and flag suspicious activity faster than traditional manual processes. The larger story is not simply automation. AI is becoming part of the operating infrastructure of modern finance, shifting competitive advantage toward institutions that can combine proprietary data, computing power and human judgment at scale. Erik Witte liked thisErik Witte liked thisThe best career plan might be no plan at all. This weekend, my youngest daughter graduated from university. With both of my daughters now officially entering the workforce, I’ve been reflecting on my own "Day 1." If you had asked me then what my long-term career goals were, I wouldn't have had a well-articulated response. I didn't have a career roadmap; I had a plane ticket. Not unlike today, when I graduated the world was undergoing major changes. The dissolution of the Soviet Union resulted in the rapid emergence of 15 independent states, while Eastern Europe experienced significant political and economic liberalization. Fresh out of university, I knew I wanted to work abroad to experience these changes firsthand. I applied to the Peace Corps in Africa and an international school in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. I ended up with one choice: teaching in Ostrava, Czechia. I was barely older than my students and entirely out of my comfort zone. That experience set the tone for a career that has been defined not by following a straight line, but by seeking out the "uncomfortable." As my daughters start their own journeys, these are the reflections I’m sharing with them: 🔹 Don't Fear the "Only Option:" Sometimes, having only one door open is a gift. It forces you to commit fully to a path you might never have chosen for yourself. 🔹 The Growth is in the Discomfort: If you are the smartest or most experienced person in the room, you’re in the wrong room. Seek out the roles that make you feel slightly unqualified – that’s where the real learning happens. 🔹 Embrace the "Pivot:" My career didn't start in a boardroom; it started in a classroom in a foreign country. Don't worry if your first job doesn't look like your "dream job." Spoiler alert – they rarely do. It’s just the foundation to gain experience and refine your own thinking on how your interests and skills map to opportunities. 🔹 Reliability is a Superpower: Whether you’re teaching in Ostrava or navigating global infrastructure, showing up and being the person people can count on is the most effective networking strategy there is. To my daughters: I am so proud of the resilient, hard-working women that you have become. Much learning, growth and great new friendships lie ahead. Don't be afraid to get a little uncomfortable - it’s where the best stories (and careers) begin.

Sensi is redefining how senior care organizations operate — using AI-powered audio technology to give care teams the visibility they need to act early, intervene faster, and deliver better outcomes for the seniors they serve. I'll be reuniting with a former colleague, Rona Elbaz, to build enterprise partnerships with the largest and most innovative senior living communities across the country and ensure no older adult is left behind in their aging journey. #SeniorLiving #SeniorCare #CareIntelligence #AgeTech #SensiAI #FutureOfCare

Is AI a rising superintelligence or just a "normal technology"? In an essay for the Knight First Amendment Institute, Prof. Arvind Narayanan and Sayash Kapoor argue that treating AI as an autonomous, superintelligent entity misinterprets its true societal trajectory. Instead, framing AI as "normal technology"—akin to electricity or the internet—reveals a far more realistic future. The essay is written in 2025 and technology has evolved since then so here's a link to the latest work - https://lnkd.in/dP7uMhC6 as well as 2025 essay - https://lnkd.in/dwsY2Cr3. Here are three key insights from their work: • Diffusion is slow: While AI capability benchmarks advance rapidly, real-world adoption in high-consequence sectors unfolds over decades due to safety, regulatory, and organizational constraints. • Humans remain central: Future workplace roles will center on AI control, monitoring, and task specification rather than total human replacement. • Prioritise resilience over panic: Rather than focusing heavily on speculative existential threats, policy should target concrete systemic risks by building societal resilience. Viewing AI as a powerful tool rather than an uncontrollable force allows us to design better safety controls, system audits, and governance frameworks. https://lnkd.in/dwsY2Cr3

The go forward risk in 2026 is not implementing AI poorly; it’s ignoring it while your competitors use it to diligence deals faster and run PortCos cheaper. As #EQT philosophy suggests: AI won't replace investment firms, but investment firms that use AI will replace those that don't. Juhi Saxena Rachel Barton Vivek Narayanan

AI is becoming a commodity. Models are accessible. Vendors are comparable. Tools are everywhere. So where does competitive advantage come from now? I just read a powerful piece in Harvard Business Review by Rohan Narayana Murty and Ravi Kumar S that reframes the debate: 👉 When every company can use the same AI models, context becomes the differentiator. Not documentation. Not CRM stages. Not SOPs. But the invisible patterns that define how work actually gets done: • When do leaders escalate? • How much uncertainty is tolerated? • Which signals predict deal slippage? • When is speed prioritized over certainty? • What trade-offs define “how we win”? This is institutional memory. And here’s the shift: AI models are general by design. Your organization’s operating logic is not. Without contextual grounding, AI standardizes behavior. With contextual grounding, AI amplifies competitive advantage. The next frontier is not “AI deployment.” It is Context Engineering: → Capturing execution patterns → Encoding tacit judgment → Delivering precise context at decision time → Linking AI actions to business outcomes In the next 2–3 years, we won’t compete on model access. We will compete on how well we encode how we win. For enterprises — especially in BFSI, regulated sectors, and IT services — this may be the real AI moat. The question for CXOs is no longer: “Which model are we using?” It is: “Have we captured our operating logic?” #AI #GenerativeAI #Leadership #DigitalTransformation #EnterpriseAI #Strategy #CXO #Innovation
