Design Services

Founder-first, 0→1 studio that defines, designs, and builds products and other digital wizardry.

About us

We’re a well-knit design studio working with products, brands and (no-)code. We’ve helped countless early-stage startups define, build and scale their MVPs, but also had our share of fun with more mature companies, supporting their design and development teams. Our expertise is in B2B SaaS, but we’re just as comfortable with new challenges, even if they require deep domain knowledge. We enjoy working closely with the client's team (or the founders themselves) to build long-lasting relationships If you’re a YC startup, portfolio company of our VC network, making a positive impact on the world or a qualified non-profit — we’ll cut you an amazingly good deal. Say hello via hello@tonik.com. Cue the ‘meg ryan in you’ve got mail email scene’ gif.

  • 👀 who's joining us?

When you work with great brand designers, you never let them go. I first got the chance to work with tonik over 10 years ago at Segment, when they hooked us up with our final brand redesign which would live all the way through our acquisition by Twilio and for at least a year thereafter. Then, when I became independent, that team was my first call. We collaborated on many projects over the past several years, including redesigns and brand work for LangChain, Letta, Extend, Adaptive, and others. Now that they're the official brand design partner for a16z's Speedrun, this Polish team is spending quite a lot of time on the ground here in SF. That's why during TECH WEEK by a16z, we're co-hosting the Potato Meter, a new kind of design critique with some of the most gifted taste makers in SF. Like the Tomato-meter but make it Polish (🤓🥔🇵🇱🤓), we're rating some brand work live and discussing what makes a campaign fully-loaded, or half-baked. But if the premise didn't hook you already, come for the STACKED headliners: your judges and presenters will be none other than the Head of Craft at Stripe, Malthe Sigurdsson, the VP of Marketing at Braintrust Morgane Palomares, and the Head of Creators at a16z, Lester Chen. EDITED to add link to Partiful, register here: https://lnkd.in/gzAXxeBv. October 08 in SF, don't miss it, this one will be packed.

Liczba miejsc ograniczona. Zapisy tutaj: tdm.tonik.com

Heja!

  • Your team is too close. Your friends are too nice. Your investors are too busy. It’s time for an honest opinion on your brand. For SF TECH WEEK by a16z, we’re hosting Potato Meter, our spin on Rotten Tomatoes for startup brands. Think: a panel’s critique, an audience verdict, and potatoes that can take a roast. Submit your site and let a room full of founders and marketers score it with… potato paddles. Scoring alongside the audience: Lester Chen (Partner, a16z), Morgane Palomares (VP of Marketing, Braintrust), Malthe Sigurdsson (Head of Craft, Stripe). But first, Maya Spivak from Marketing.fan sits each of them down to talk about the work they're known for. Sign up here → https://lnkd.in/dRD6j4Qe

  • Minimalism is often associated with coldness. That's a mistake. For Syncle, we created a visual language that is minimalistic yet playful. Color, motion, simple layout, and rounded forms make a complex product feel clear, friendly, and easy to navigate. Movement and transitions bring that visual language to life across the website. We're stoked to exit stealth and unveil ARC-1. Maglut is building a sovereign mineral processing engine, starting with rare earths. At Unveiling, Congressman Rob Wittman emphasized the importance of securing American critical mineral supply chains through his work as Vice Chair of the House Armed Services and Natural Resources Committees. The Office of Mayor Rex Richardson has been a huge champion of US Reindustrialization and it's our pleasure to build in Long Beach. Reach out to join our mission - https://lnkd.in/gzEG-WpF

Generation Lab is working to turn back biological aging. That’s why we gave their website a reversal of its own. We flipped the header, turning the brand’s mission into a visual idea you can experience as you move through the site. Because sometimes web design should practice what the product preaches.

We got tired of choosing between shipping fast and owning the code. So Artur Grzęda built Devlooper: one agent turns your Figma into production-ready code, a second grades every section against the design and sends it back until it passes. Desktop, tablet and mobile all have to clear the bar, no partial credit. Builds that used to eat a week now take a night. Join the waitlist: https://devlooper.ai P.S. Artur Grzęda is posting how it actually works on his own channels. Go make some noise there! ❤️
