  • As part of our 36 for 36 campaign, we're giving you 36 digital accessibility tips to put into action. Here's tip #3 of 36. Headings help everyone scan a page, and they help screen reader users move through content more efficiently. Use one clear H1 for the main title, then H2s and H3s in a logical order without skipping levels. To find out more about our 36 for 36 campaign to celebrate 36 years of the ADA and the digital accessibility support we're giving away to eligible organizations, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/epqni983 Alt text: Graphic explaining how to structure webpage content clearly using headings. An illustrated webpage shows Heading 1 for the page title, Heading 2 for section titles and Heading 3 for subsections. Recite Me and “36 Years of the ADA” logos appear at the bottom.

  • The biggest unknown accessibility risk on your website? Your PDFs. Policies, forms, reports, brochures, and other important information are often shared as PDFs. But if those documents aren’t accessible, they could be creating barriers for your users — and adding to your compliance risk. Recite Me PDF Accessibility Remediation helps you tackle PDF accessibility at scale. Automatically: • Discover PDFs across your website • Analyse and remediate at scale • Validate accessibility with confidence • Monitor PDFs over time Make PDF accessibility part of your wider accessibility strategy ✅ Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ejFF_Zvb #PDFAccessibility #DigitalAccessibility #WCAG #ReciteMe ALT text: Animated explainer showing multiple digital documents and PDFs, highlighting issues like missing image alt text, then transitioning to show Recite Me's PDF Accessibility Checker as a platform that uploads, scans, and remediates PDFs to meet accessibility standards.

  • ADA compliance isn't just about fixing issues once. With multiple teams managing content and requirements constantly evolving, keeping on top of WCAG 2.2 takes a clear, repeatable process. Kenosha County recognized this and built accessibility into their day-to-day by using the Recite Me Accessibility Checker to scan, identify, and prioritize fixes across their site. The result? Issues are identified sooner, fixes are prioritized faster, and residents get a more inclusive digital experience. • Laptop with the Kenosha County website using the Recite Me checker with a blue quote bubble to the right with text that reads '“The detailed explanations for each issue make it so much easier to understand what needs to be fixed and why. “Being able to run the Checker as many times as we need, without any limitations, is really valuable. It means we can keep checking our progress and make sure fixes are actually working.”
  • As our Founder and CEO, Ross Linnett explains here, when it comes to digital accessibility, inaction isn't an option. However, whilst you can't do nothing, you also can't do everything. Finding out what is proportionate for your organization will depend on your regulatory exposure, the customers you serve, the size of your digital estate and your industry. Once you know that, you can the prioritize what to tackle first and making a plan for what comes next and when. These recorded actions and plan for the future is what makes up your evidence trail. • Small changes can make a big difference. Add concise, meaningful alt text to images so people using screen readers can understand the information being shared. Avoid starting with “image of”, and leave the alt text empty when an image is purely decorative. This is your digital accessibility tip #1 of 36 as part of our 36 for 36 campaign, which is our commitment to supporting digital accessibility to celebrate 36 years of the ADA. We’re giving away our time, our expertise and using our software to make a difference. Want to find out more about the campaign and whether you're eligible for support? Visit our website https://lnkd.in/e_RaAP7D Alt text: “Accessibility tip showing how meaningful alt text adds useful context, using ‘Three colleagues discussing a project around a laptop’ instead of ‘Image of people’.”

    • “Digital accessibility tip: Make images understandable. Add concise, meaningful alt text, or use empty alt text for decorative images. Example compares ‘Image of people’ with the more descriptive ‘Three colleagues discussing a project around a laptop.’”
