We need more women building companies. And we need more people writing them checks. That’s why yesterday was so special. 10 female founders took the stage at Ecom Elevated by Commerce Catalyst to pitch the businesses they’re building — with $20K on the line for the grand prize winner. Tim Holladay from Spacestation Investments, Lane Spurlock from PlayHouse Ventures, and I judged the 10 founder pitches — hearing their stories, learning about their businesses, and seeing firsthand the ambition behind what they’re building. Getting on stage, putting your vision out there, and asking people to believe in what you’re building takes guts — and there was a lot of talent in that room. Supporting female founders is core to my mission in business and in life. More women building companies means more women creating wealth, holding equity, becoming investors — and ultimately writing the checks for the next generation of founders.
