We've recently made several little accuracy and design updates to improve and further simplify the Plausible installation experience. 👉 We detect what technology you use on your site to recommend the best integration method: direct site installation, WordPress plugin, Tag Manger, or NPM. Earlier, all this info used to reside in our docs, leaving it to the subscriber to find the info. But now it's a part of the product as well: so you know which method to choose right when it matters and get started in no time. 👉 Once installation is done, our verification feature visits the site to check if you’ve integrated Plausible correctly (we've improved this as well to be even more accurate and reliable than before). If there are any issues detected, you'll see tips on what to fix. You can launch the verification at any later time as well. We hope this cuts down any possible friction or confusion while installing Plausible. Enjoy. 💜

Plausible free trial users often wonder why is data seen in Plausible not matching with another analytics tool. The other tool in comparison could be anything: GA4, Search Console, Mailchimp, Meta Ads, or even server logs. Seeing some differences between any two tools is almost guaranteed. Things like browser blocking, cookie-consent banners, bot traffic, different definitions of metrics, how tags are installed, and more can lead to sizeable differences. That can lead to questions like: Which tool is “right”? What do the differences mean? Should I trust one over the other? Is there a bug? Is my setup correct? This is why, we have published a guide to help you make sense of it all (link in comment) You can find the category of the tool you're comparing against Plausible and understand what causes the differences. The goal isn’t to declare one tool “right” and the others “wrong,” but to help you interpret the numbers correctly and use them wisely.

Our designer joined a month ago and started suggesting various improvements. One of them was our dark mode not being dark enough. After some iterations, we're excited to announce that our dark mode is now waaay darker. If you're someone who likes to use dark mode, try this out now: Go to Account settings → Preferences → Appearance → Theme: Dark We think it's gorgeous; let us know if you like this better. :) Dark-er mode loading...⏳🖤

We’ve launched a brand new Plausible tracking script! 🚀 This update introduces a unique snippet per site, and once you switch, you’ll never need to update it again for doing the following things: ✅ Enable/adjust optional measurements: form tracking, outbound link, and file download tracking ✅ Change your domain name ...You can just manage it all from your site settings, without touching your site’s code. ✔️ It’s still lightweight, privacy-friendly, and won’t break anything if you’re not ready to switch yet. Find your new snippet in your site settings to get started.

Accuracy in Plausible: Funnels edition. Did you know your funnel would not break if your visitors wandered off in the middle of the funnel? 👉 They could enter your funnel, and then visit other pages, trigger other events, or explore the site, before coming back and completing the funnel. They would still be counted as a conversion! P.S. We're working on making the funnels even more flexible. Stay tuned. 👀
