Partiful

You know that one person on campus — the one who knows what’s happening Friday before it’s announced. Who’s in every group chat, on every list, and somehow already has the link. That person should be rewarded. So now they are. We’ve spent the last few months building Partiful’s Campus Program around one simple idea: the students who already make their campus more fun should get something back for it. Bring hosts, clubs, and organizations onto Partiful, and earn cash when they run events with us. Earn even more when those events sell tickets through Partiful. If people are gathering, there’s a reward for being the person who brought it to Partiful. There are no set hours or gimmicks. Just early access to new features, exclusive merch, a direct line to our team, and the chance to help shape how Partiful shows up on your campus. This has been one of the most fun things I’ve worked on, and I’d love to build it with you. Partiful is in The New York Times again, in a piece about why clean, minimal design is giving way to something louder, messier, and more human. For years, consumer design tried to look frictionless: muted colors, tidy fonts, lots of negative space. It looked polished, but every ounce of humanity had been stripped. When anything can be generated, smoothed, and optimized in seconds, “perfect” starts to feel suspicious. People want signs that a real person made the thing in front of them. Someone with taste, a point of view, and ideally a sense of humor. That’s always been part of how we think about Partiful. Our event pages aren’t meant to look like landing pages. They’re meant to look (and feel!!) like the person throwing the party. Sometimes that means WordArt. Sometimes it means Comic Sans. Sometimes it means something so unserious, it literally makes you laugh out loud. The mess is part of the signal: a real human made this, and they want you to have a good time.

Another Monday morning in the books with GOOD GRiEF! No big takeaway here - just feeling grateful to start the week doing work I genuinely care about. Between GOOD GRiEF and Partiful, I get to spend my time bringing people together in real life, creating spaces where people can show up as they are, and building community in a way that feels genuine. That’s always been the thing I’m drawn to most - connecting people, creating moments, and making it easier for others to do the same.

Running a startup means being gaslit constantly. For so long, every VC and every headline was telling us virtual was the future.
