Space Copy turned 4 last week! 🎂 There was no big party... just the simple silence of machines humming and materials printing. This year, members of our team stood together in front of the platform we spent those four years building: AERIS, our closed-loop multi-material manufacturing system, now at TRL 6, newly released, and operating for customers in aerospace, mining, defense, and construction around the world. Four years ago, Space Copy was an idea that waste should become feedstock, and feedstock should become parts, anywhere a machine can run, at the point of need in austere communities, on Earth and off of it. Today it is a team across three continents, and hardware that works in the environments it was designed for. We are grateful to the partners, advisors, staff, and customers who got us here. The next four years start now. Happy birthday, Space Copy. 🎉

#SpaceCopy was thrilled to have Andrew Hazelton, MBA from Interstellar Mapping join our team for a tour of AERIS, our multi-material (and multi-planet!) manufacturing platform, built for the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration LunaRecycle Challenge. We even had a special batch of materials mixed and prepped in house by the #Interstellar team, that is being demo-ed this week as part of our #TechnologyShowcase at The University of Alabama Lee J. NASA’s LunaRecycle Challenge is coming to a close this week, and we want you to be part of it! 🚀🌕 UA faculty, staff and students are invited to join us Friday, Aug. 28, from 8-11:15 a.m. in H.M. Comer Hall to explore exhibits from finalist teams showcasing technologies designed to transform waste generated during lunar missions into useful products and resources for astronauts. Our College was proud to host the challenge and serve as its allied organization, helping support NASA’s efforts to develop innovative ways to recycle, repurpose and reuse materials during long-duration missions to the moon. Stop by the McAbee Grand Foyer, meet the finalist teams and cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award. The team with the most votes will take home a $25,000 cash prize! Today I completed my Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria Peter B. Gustavson School of Business with double majors in International Business and Entrepreneurship. 🎉 The past 5 years have been a surreal journey, from launching my career, to moving across three different cities and two countries, trying to ignite my community with passion and the strength to persevere through some of the hardest challenges known to the modern business society. Although I am months away from the actual convocation ceremony, I feel immensely grateful to be moving forward in carrying onwards with Space Copy, as well as having confirmed that I will be starting a Master's Degree next year. This degree represents many battles fought, and won; and I wish to thank the friends, mentors and supporters who stood by me while I conquered every challenge. Onwards and upwards, Ad Astra Per Aspera! ✨
