About us

Seapoint is the AI-native business account for European startups. It connects the tools founders already use — bank accounts, bookkeeping, expenses and other systems — to give startups one clear view of their money, and automate their finance ops all in one place. Seapoint was founded by Sean Mullaney, former Algolia CTO and Stripe European CIO, to help more startup founders succeed by transforming how finance systems work — giving founders better intelligence, less admin, and more time back to build their businesses.

  • Huge thank you to everyone who came along to today’s webinar on building an AI-native company with Youssef Darwich, Neil Streete. and Manu Mahajan. 🔧 A few things that stood out: → Being AI-native isn't about using lots of tools, but rather redesigning how you plan, build and test from first principles. → The bottleneck has moved from execution to code review and judgment → We prototype first and write the spec second, making the feedback loop much faster. → Agents need scaffolding: risk-scored PRs, least-privilege access, strong testing and a human in the loop. In a regulated business, that's non-negotiable. → Last quarter, agents resolved ~70% of our bug tickets end to end. If you're in London, join Youssef and Neil in person on 21 October to talk about product defensibility in the age of AI. Link in the comments.

  • How exactly do our engineers work with coding agents? It depends on the task. In our latest engineering post, Manu Mahajan explains the five workflows our team uses, from fully delegating to Seapoint Coding Agents to prototyping first. He also covers how complexity and ambiguity decide which one fits. Every path follows the same engineering guidance, verification and PR review, and engineers stay accountable for what ships. • Last Thursday we partnered with Health Stack x YES Club to bring together 28 HealthTech founders for a live podcast and a beautiful dinner. YES Club exists to help founders find people they can be real with, curating spaces where phones are put away and egos are left at the door. In the room: Marcela Donatello, Sean Mullaney and a group of talented founders, including Sasha Nagarajah from Joey and Sumeeta Ahluwalia from SYNC | Women's Health Platform (both already Seapoint users!). It was a brilliant night with great conversation, and an exciting look at the innovation thriving across the HealthTech scene. Thanks to YES Club and Health Stack for having us!

  • No need to police every expense – Transaction Review is now live in Seapoint. 🚨 Open-banking data is messy, and sometimes uncertainty is unavoidable. But rather than letting these small errors quietly distort your spend breakdown, we’ll flag the handful of transactions that need your attention, so you can confirm or correct the catogory before reconciling. Here's how it works: → Seapoint assigns a confidence level to every transaction it categorises → The model flags the transactions where confidence is low, so nothing gets silently misfiled → A banner on your dashboard tells you if there’s anything new to review → Confirm them all at once or fix individually, and we’ll remember the category for next time Want to see for yourself? • Want to know what building an AI-native company actually looks like? This webinar’s for you. This quarter, around 25% of Seapoint's work went from idea to shipped with almost no one writing code by hand. To do this, we didn’t just need the right tools. We needed to switch up how product and engineering worked together. Manu Mahajan, Neil Streete. and Youssef Darwich dive into: → How AI reshapes how to decide what's worth building → How a customer request can become a shipped feature in a day → How to know when to hand off to AI and when to keep work within your team Plus a live Q&A at the end, so bring all your questions. 📅 10am, Thursday 24 Sept Link to register in the first comment.

I skipped 94% of my university lectures to build a six-figure agency and still graduated with a first. At the end of every month, I still had to stop building. Here’s why: We’d spend hours searching WhatsApp and email for invoices, discovering missed payments and pulling everything together for our accountant. Weeks later, we’d receive accurate books that were already out of date. Even then, I still couldn’t answer basic questions: Why had our costs jumped? How much could we safely spend? What was actually happening to our cash? Most accounting software treats accurate books as the finished product. For a founder, they’re only the starting point. That’s what we’re changing at Seapoint. - Connect all your business accounts, and transactions from each one feed into a single, up-to-date set of books. - Instead of interpreting reports across different platforms, you can ask questions about your finances and get answers based on the complete picture. Founders shouldn’t have to stop building just to understand their finances. It's free to try, Link in the comments

  • Sometimes, the best kind of feedback is a photo. 📸 Sam Brunt, co-founder of Overmind, posted a picture of himself wearing our "actually building" hat. Away from his desk, and actually building. When we came up with the design, we didn’t want to make another cap that would end up in a drawer. We wanted a hat that says out loud what Seapoint stands for: handling the financial admin so founders can build. So seeing a customer out in the world, wearing our swag, doing precisely that? Hard to ask for a better sign we're doing things right. Sam, keep building. And thanks for the photo (link to his post in the comments below).

  • Last night Sean Mullaney joined Founders Club for a fireside chat with Yara Alenazi, investor at Crane Ventures, hosted by GDS Group and AWS Startups. They covered how to run a tight fundraising process, and how the best founders think about hiring at every stage of growth, from both the founder and investor perspective. Thanks to Ed O'Riordan for the invite, the gds team for a brilliant evening, Yara for such an open conversation, and all the founders who came along and asked the right questions. Fundraising and hiring resources on the blog. Link in comments.
