Adam Walsh was just 6 years old when he was abducted and murdered in 1981. In the face of unimaginable loss, his parents, John and Revé Walsh, transformed their grief into purpose by co-founding the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and helping inspire the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act. On Jan. 2, 1999, an unidentified teen believed to be between 16 and 18 years old was found in the Sweetwater Reservoir in Spring Valley, California. Now, at San Diego Comic-Con, NCMEC and Adobe are using art and technology to help solve his case. "Comic-Con is filled with stories about heroes who fight for people they've never met," said Gavin Portnoy, vice president of communications at NCMEC. "This is a chance to do that in real life. Every person who walks by this reconstruction could be the one who recognizes a face, remembers a detail or helps return this young man his name. You don't need a cape to change someone's story.
