For years, employers had to choose between a great benefits experience for employees, or manageable costs and admin. Today, Workday Total Benefits ends that tradeoff—AI agents handle the busywork while employees get more choice and easier access.

  • September is NICU Awareness Month, an important moment to talk about what happens when families get the right support at one of the hardest points of their path to building a family. Meet Sarah. Her daughter Ivy arrived seven weeks early, after a sudden case of preterm labor she didn't see coming. The NICU is its own world: monitors, incubators, a discharge date nobody can promise you. Sarah and her husband were overwhelmed, exhausted, and scared, unsure what questions to ask or how to help without getting in the way. Their Maven care team connected them with a NICU care coach within hours, someone who could explain what each number on the monitor meant and why. They were coached through infant massage and cue-based feeding, two of the interventions shown to help impact the length of a NICU stay. When the exhaustion and fear became too much, a mental health provider helped them process it in real time, not months later. Ivy came home a full two weeks sooner than the family's initial estimate. Sarah went back to work on schedule, without draining her leave or her savings on an extended stay. For her employer, that's not a soft outcome. NICU stays cost employers and health plans an average of $58,100 per week, and every day shaved off adds up fast across a workforce. Maven members see up to 27% lower NICU admission rates in the first place, and when a NICU stay does happen, coordinated support helps shorten it and reduce readmissions. 💚 No family should have to navigate the NICU alone. For anyone in the thick of a NICU stay, or who has been there, we're with you.

  • Exciting news: Maven was named to TIME's 2026 World's Top HealthTech Companies list. This comes at a moment of unparalleled transformation in both healthcare and technology that has opened up new ways to reach and care for people. In an area like women's and family health, where the stakes remain so high, the promise is finally starting to catch up to the need. We're proud to be named alongside so many companies we admire: partners we've built with, clients who trusted us early, and people across this industry who've inspired us. • There's something powerful about being in a room full of women building what comes next. Last week, our Founder and CEO Kate Ryder joined Caryn Seidman Becker Chair and CEO of CLEAR, and ForbesWomen Maggie McGrath on stage at the #ForbesPowerWomenSummit for a conversation about challenging legacy industries, building companies through early investor skepticism, and doing right by the people those industries have historically overlooked, especially women. Thank you to Forbes and ForbesWomen for creating space for conversations like this, and to Maggie and Caryn for such a thoughtful discussion. Starting January 1, 2027, the single global maternity billing code disappears. In its place: itemized codes for prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) proposed fee schedule redistributes value within that new structure, with labor and delivery seeing a proposed 15% increase while prenatal and postpartum visits lose ground, and none of it is finalized yet. A separate proposal could let some payers keep billing the old way, meaning two systems could end up running side by side for the same pregnancy. For employers, this isn't a coding footnote. It shows up in premiums, or in direct costs if you're self-funded, whether or not your team has had time to prepare. 📍On September 16 from 12-1pm ET / 9-10am PT, Maven's Neel Shah, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board, and Chief Revenue Officer Doreen Bortel will walk through what's changing, what's still undecided, and what benefits leaders should be doing now to get ahead of their 2027 renewal. 💭 Can't join live? • One of Maven's longtime company values is "walk through walls," which we define as thinking big, setting ambitious goals, and staying resilient by focusing on impact for our members and clients. This value isn't just for our technology teams — it belongs to the entire company: sales and marketing, finance, legal, everyone. Every Maven employee is encouraged to see innovation as part of the job. That's why we're especially excited to be recognized by Fast Company as one of its Best Workplaces for Innovators for 2026. In a year when healthcare and technology are evolving faster than ever, we're honored to be included among so many other boundary-pushing companies. Thank you, Fast Company! ➡ Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gSCv5Wwv

  • Dr. Vivek Murthy joined our CMO, Neel Shah, for a Preprint Substack Live conversation on loneliness. Here's what our team was saying internally, straight from Slack: "...this is like adult Sesame Street." A few things from the conversation stayed with us. 🤝 Social connection is a skill, not a trait. Dr. Murthy described it as a muscle: children aren't born knowing how to build relationships, and adults lose the ability when they stop practicing it. Social media has made that practice harder, not easier. It offers the appearance of connection while often replacing the real thing. ❗️There's reason for cautious optimism. Two years after Dr. Murthy declared loneliness a public health epidemic, he sees more people naming the problem and more workplaces building real solutions, not just awareness campaigns. 🫶 He also pointed to something we've tried to practice at Maven: letting people be visibly, imperfectly human at work. The pandemic normalized kids on Zoom calls and interrupted meetings. Dr. Murthy's hope is that workplaces don't quietly walk that grace back now that the emergency has passed. ⭐️ One line worth sitting with: the people doing the most demanding, high-stakes work need a small circle who can tell them the truth about who they are, separate from the noise of the outside world. • Thank you to Fast Company and Wellhub for recognizing Maven Clinic as a 2026 Corporate Wellness Innovator! This award celebrates companies supporting employees' physical and mental well-being. Over the past decade of supporting women and families, we've seen how tightly health is tied to everything else going on in someone's life: their finances, their family, their job. It's rarely just physical. We're honored to be recognized for that approach, both in how we serve our 2,300+ clients and how we support our own team. ➡️ Read more: https://lnkd.in/dRy32Vss

🗓️ Tomorrow on the Preprint Substack Live: Dr. Vivek Murthy joins us. Twice the nation's doctor, he served as the 19th and 21st U.S. Surgeon General under two different presidents nearly a decade apart, and in 2023 was the first to call loneliness a public health crisis. Since leaving office, he's continued that work through Staying Human his newsletter and podcast on building community and a fulfilling life. He'll talk about what it means to build a life of meaning, and what that looks like in a world where fertility rates are falling in nearly every country. ➡️ Join live, Thursday, September 3 at 2:45 ET / 11:45 PT: https://lnkd.in/gEKvQxC4

Today, Oura is bringing the Menopause Impact Scale (MIS) beyond the Oura App and into the care and health experiences women already use. Through an expanding ecosystem of ten partners across specialty menopause care, primary and integrated women’s health, and hormone and biomarker tracking, new integrations of the MIS will help connect lived experience with longitudinal context for more informed clinical conversations over time. The MIS measures how menopause affects quality of life and daily functioning across 22 symptoms and seven domains. When combined with Oura’s continuous data on sleep, stress, recovery, and metabolic health, it helps create a more complete view of the menopause experience. We’re proud to work with Alloy Health, Gennev, Wisp, Pomelo Care, Maven Clinic, Tia, Xella Health, Oova, Mira, and Hertility as we help make menopause care more consistent, connected, and responsive to each individual’s experience. #WithOura https://lnkd.in/gfMGJcns
