  • OpenZeppelin co-designed Guardian alongside Miden to solve private-state coordination and recovery without giving up custody. Great to see it behind Bread, a wallet where sending, swapping and receiving stay off the public chain by default. With a Guardian-backed account, you can restore your wallet on a new device using your recovery key.

Last week, we introduced Bread, our private, self-custodial wallet. Bread makes it easy to send, receive, and hold digital assets without putting your balances and financial activity on public display. You stay in control of your funds, and your activity stays private from other users. It is privacy made simple, with the complexity tucked away. Behind that simplicity are choices about how your account is secured, where your data lives, and how Guardian-backed recovery helps you regain access if you lose your device. Here's how Bread works 👇 https://lnkd.in/e3WRBbuM

  • MiCA authorization gets you licensed to operate as a CASP in the EU, but it doesn't make you DORA-compliant. DORA has applied to CASPs since Jan 17, 2025. Same ICT risk, incident reporting, and resilience testing rules as banks. Two regimes, one firm, no grace period. The fix is one evidence base: security audits and smart contract audits that double as ongoing proof of ICT risk management under DORA. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e-2uzVbP

  • Today we are announcing that S&P Global has entered an agreement to acquire OpenZeppelin. Onchain finance is growing from an emerging market into core financial infrastructure, and the standards and rails our team and community built are becoming the rails of global finance. OpenZeppelin smart contracts facilitated over $37 trillion in value transferred, with the vast majority of the largest DeFi protocols, blockchain networks, stablecoins and tokenized funds relying on them. With S&P Global, we expect to accelerate the impact of onchain finance, backed by more than a century of trust in global markets, benchmarks, and risk frameworks. To our clients and to all the users of OpenZeppelin open source tools: • OpenZeppelin Contracts and all our open source applications and tools remain open source, free, and publicly maintained on GitHub. Building open source standards stays a core priority. • Audits, engineering work, and ecosystem programs continue with the same team, brand, quality, and customer experience, with what will be the added benefit of S&P Global's research capacity, market data, and institutional reach. For the last decade, OpenZeppelin has set the security standard for onchain finance. Today begins a new chapter for that mission, together with one of the most trusted names in global markets. • Which of your wallets, bridges, or governance keys would fail first if a quantum computer showed up tomorrow? Every exposed public key onchain is a future liability. A quantum computer could recover the private key behind it and forge authorizations. NIST's 2024 standards (ML-KEM, ML-DSA, SLH-DSA) point the way, but none are drop-in fixes onchain. Bigger signatures, heavier verification, real gas costs. Read more: https://lnkd.in/erUqsGg9
