  • ⚡Happy Fara-Day! ⚡ This week, we’re celebrating Michael Faraday, born on September 22, 1791, and the scientist behind our name. Faraday had little formal schooling and began his working life as a bookbinder’s apprentice in London. Curious about the world around him, he studied the books he was binding. He eventually became a laboratory assistant at the Royal Institution, where that curiosity grew into a lifetime of discovery. His experiments led to the first electric motor and the discovery of electromagnetic induction, helping lay the foundations for how we generate and use electricity today. That legacy is close to home for us. The people we serve work with electrical and mechanical systems every day, keeping homes comfortable and businesses running. Their work takes curiosity, practical skill, and a willingness to keep learning. We named our company after Faraday because we believe there are many more people like him out there. His story reminds us how much can come from giving curious, capable people the chance to do great work. (We also got a company holiday, so the team is especially grateful. 🥳 )

Every service call is a marketing asset. Most contractors treat it like a transaction. That idea came up a lot when I sat down with John Wilson on the Owned and Operated podcast a couple of weeks ago. Your techs are already in the home looking at the equipment. How old it is, what's under warranty, what the homeowner said no to. That's the start of the next sale, not the end of this one. We covered a lot of ground: where home services is headed, what AI can actually do for a shop today and where it still falls short, and the back-office work that quietly eats a contractor's week. The takeaway is simple. You should know what's happening in your business. Faraday turns what your techs already see on every call into information your CSRs, dispatchers, and sales team can act on, and takes the paperwork off their plate. Check out the full interview in the comments.

  • Welcome to Faraday, Charles Novoth! 👋 Charlie is joining us as a Senior Account Executive, helping more home services companies discover what Faraday can take off their plate. More permits filed, more warranties registered, and more time back for their teams. We’re still growing. If you’re customer-minded, excited about technology, and want to work with a low-ego, high-output team, we’d love to hear from you. Check out our open roles: - Sales Development Representative: https://lnkd.in/d6a-zWns - Senior Customer Success Manager: https://lnkd.in/dbzjQCZ5

  • Permit Party 📁 🥳 Yesterday, the entire Faraday team had the same job: permit filer. We build software that automates permit filing for home services contractors. But you can't build great software for work you don't understand. So we grabbed a speaker, ordered L'Industrie pizza, and spent the afternoon doing the work ourselves, engineering, sales, marketing, operations. Everyone. We learned the very real, very physical (!!) process of filing a permit in a state with no online portals. Engineering found new ways to improve our software and shipped some of them on the spot. Sales got a firsthand look at just how painful permit filing is for the contractors we serve. And marketing… well, you're reading this, aren't you? At Faraday, we believe the best way to solve a problem is to jump right in. No work is beneath anyone, and when something needs doing, everyone raises a hand. Now, back to automating the part where nobody has to do this again. We're hiring. Come help us build the future of the back office.

  • Magic Moments at Faraday Faraday shares an office space with 12 other Gutter Capital funded companies, so we often get magic moments of collaboration. Like this week when Ryan Greenberg walked the Recharged team through the team's custom AI harness setup. Twenty minutes later they were sketching how to adapt it for their own stack. Sharing an office means sharing meals, ideas, and growth. It's why Faraday calls Chinatown home.

  • Faraday is hiring our first SDR! We are building the AI back office for home services. In the past year we've doubled headcount, launched three new products, and expanded to 32 states. Now we need someone to own our top of funnel. Expect to book qualified meetings, run outbound your own way (we care about results, not process), and collaborate across every team. If you're eager to be on the edge of technology, be fanatical about customers, and help grow Faraday into a generational company, apply to be our First SDR. In office 4 days a week in Chinatown NYC. OTE: 100k Click the link to apply!

  • Every Tuesday, Faraday has a team lunch where everyone gets together and shares a meal. Since we started the tradition, we've never once had a full table. A meeting, a sick day, travel. Something always got in the way. This Tuesday, every seat was filled. It's the one hour a week where engineering hears what's happening in ops, ops hears what's shipping next, and everyone remembers who we're building for. If you'd like to join us, check out our new job posting for our SDR role: https://lnkd.in/enq66-dw

  • Faraday Field Trip! Rain or shine, Faraday now delivers physical permits. To celebrate our first send-out, we got (nearly) the whole team to venture out of our Chinatown office to send off our first envelope at the post office (2 blocks away). If you want to solve real world problems, be obsessed with our customers, and work with a group of highly ambitious people, look at our job page. For now, we will be back to sending more permits.
