"You're not gonna talk me into an Expo migration." That was one dev's version of "hello" when he came up to our booth at React Conf. He's a bare RN dev and he is determined to stay that way. Which is great! Because he's right. We aren't trying to talk any bare rn devs into a migration, because we don't have to. One of the biggest misconceptions is that using Expo means giving up your existing setup. That is not true. Expo is additive. You simply add it to your current React Native project. Everything you already have (your native modules, custom views, and workflows) stays the same. From there, you can start benefiting from Expo’s ecosystem immediately. ◆ Use Expo modules instead of maintaining native dependencies manually ◆ Add OTA updates without touching your release process ◆ Simplify your CI/CD without losing control There is no big migration. Just less friction. These are the docs on adding Expo to an existing React Native app. Hope that dude takes a look: https://lnkd.in/gciEhrpR

Want to make your 𝝠 Expo apps faster? Of course you do. In this new video, Alberto Moedano breaks down performance best practices and turns them into real examples you can follow for speeding up your app: ♢ Understand the JS thread vs UI thread ♢ Debug bottlenecks with React DevTools ♢ Use the React Compiler to cut re-renders ♢ Try multi-threading with React Native Worklets Watch the video and let us know what you think → https://lnkd.in/g2WcGKds How to make Expo apps faster | Expo app development best practiceshttps://www.youtube.com/

We have a fantastic team of engineers here at Expo and we need another one. We're looking for someone who gets excited about making web dashboards look and feel fantastic. This is going to be a massively important role because of some services we are planning to launch in 2026. So give this job a look and submit an application if you're excited about what Expo is doing and you want to be an important part of it. https://lnkd.in/gWN_DYyh

Two apps. One codebase. Zero compromises. App&Flow built Go OnSite and Go Attend for Swoogo, powering events for companies like Atlassian and The New York Times. Both apps were engineered with Expo + React Native to handle production-grade complexity: ♢ WatermelonDB for offline-first sync and conflict resolution ♢ expo-camera, expo-print, and expo-file-system for badge scanning and instant printing ♢ expo-updates for OTA patches ♢ Firebase + RxJS for reactive, real-time UI updates ♢ React Native Web to power Swoogo’s App Builder in both web and native form The result: a dual-app ecosystem that redefines how event organizers and attendees connect. 💣 Uploading large videos on mobile is deceptively hard. App backgrounding, network interruptions, and retries all make for a fragile user experience. In this guest post, Petr Chalupa (STRV, React Prague) explains how Boom re-engineered its upload pipeline using Expo Modules for native background uploads with AWS S3 multipart support. The results: ♢ 20% faster end-to-end uploads ♢ Reliable performance across 100–300MB clips ♢ Zero “stuck” uploads in tests He shows all the code in the post right here: https://lnkd.in/gD82cjmN

Fuse is one of the most beautiful Expo apps in the world. Full stop. Even if you don't care about modern money apps this one is worth a look just for the tasteful design decisions. Technically speaking Fuse is a personal finance app that gives users full sovereignty over their funds while making fiat-to-crypto transfers simple and secure. They use: ♢ Expo Modules: powering native key management and fraud prevention ♢ EAS Build & Update: used for reliable builds, hotfixes, and fast iteration Fuse shows what’s possible when Web3 meets Expo’s developer experience. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gFdEE4GG 🏆 Submit your app → expo.dev/awards #ExpoAppAwards
