🤝 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 This partnership further aligns the ICT and rail communities to advance Europe’s connected and digital transport systems. ✨ We look forward to the continued collaboration and the progress it will bring for Europe’s transport systems.

🚄 We mark an important milestone for railway innovation and digital transformation in Europe. Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking (#EU_Rail) and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) have formalised their collaboration through the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).   📄 The MoU lays the foundation for a strengthened partnership focused on shared objectives in ICT standardisation, interoperability and strategic research.   🤝 By joining forces, EU-Rail and ETSI aim to contribute to the development of a future-proof, globally connected railway system, supporting the European Union’s vision for a digital and interoperable transport ecosystem.                                                                                                           “This agreement is an important step in bringing together research, innovation and standardisation efforts, and in strengthening our collaboration within the Flagship Project to deliver real impact for Europe’s rail sector. We’re also very glad to continue the strong partnership that started during the Shift2Rail programme” said Giorgio Travaini, Executive Director of EU-Rail.   “Our collaboration with Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking reflects ETSI’s commitment to supporting Europe’s digital transformation through open and interoperable standards. Together, we are combining the strengths of the ICT and rail sectors to deliver tangible benefits for Europe’s transport systems to advance policy objectives and develop the next-generation communication technologies such as the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS).” Jan Ellsberger, Director-General of ETSI.    We look forward to the opportunities this collaboration will unlock and the positive impact it will have on the European railway ecosystem.

Yesterday was World Standards Day — a reminder of how international collaboration drives trust and security in our connected world 🌐 At the ETSI Security Conference 2025, we had the chance to speak with Mizuki K. from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) 🇯🇵, who shared insights on the JC-STAR labeling scheme. Kitajima-san explained how Japan is raising baseline IoT security, aligning with global standards like ETSI EN 303 645, and supporting market adoption through a tiered approach — a great example of how standards continue to bridge innovation and trust across borders. #WorldStandardsDay #ETSI #ETSI2025 #Cybersecurity #IoTSecurity #AI #JCSTAR #EN303645 #DigitalTrust #GlobalCollaboration #Japan https://lnkd.in/dsRsF_U8
