A great day for the CoVet founders and team. Congratulations on what you’ve built. For the veterinary profession, I think this acquisition raises a bigger question: Who is the technology actually being built for? Independent veterinary hospitals increasingly rely on technology owned by companies that also sell them diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and other services. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but incentives matter. We started Digitail in 2018 to build software for veterinarians. That’s still what we do today. We don’t sell diagnostics or pharmaceuticals. We don’t need our software to drive revenue somewhere else in the business. We succeed when veterinary practices succeed, and that has a very real impact on how we decide what to build. It’s also why I think independent companies still have an important role to play in this industry. We were the first veterinary PIMS to introduce a native AI assistant. Today, Tails is involved in more than 20 workflows across the practice, from preparing for appointments to communicating with pet parents...and we're just getting started. Most of the conversation around veterinary AI today is about scribes and dictation. Those are useful problems to solve, but they’re a small part of what’s possible. More than 10,000 veterinary team members use Digitail every day. Our job is to keep talking to them, understand where their time is going, and build things that make their practices work better. That’s the company we set out to build in 2018, and it’s the company we plan to keep building.
