Our crew is currently out exploring the stunning Svalbard Archipelago, surrounded by otherworldly Arctic landscapes. Hey guys, we need your opinion about the event during AWS re:Invent in December in Vegas. Last year we did rock climbing in Red Rock, and everyone loved it. This year, we’re choosing between rock climbing or kayaking. The average outside temperature in December is around 40–50°F. It’s not too cold for kayaking as long as you dress properly. I would personally prefer kayaking because the route through Black Canyon is really beautiful, and it includes paddling into a cave. But if the temperature feels unacceptable for being on the water, then we’ll stick with rock climbing and hiking.
Going to the mountains? Don’t forget to check your iron. Planning a trek or high-altitude climb? Your body will need to produce a lot of hemoglobin to acclimate, and that requires iron. Low iron = poor acclimatization, fatigue, headaches, and a higher risk of altitude sickness. ⠀ ✅ Get tested before your trip: - Complete Blood Count (CBC) - Ferritin ⠀ Don't guess-test. It’s a simple check that can make a big difference. Strong legs help.
