When we first invested in Cloneable.ai, it was three people and an idea. We believed in the team and what they were setting out to build. Fast forward and our partner David Jones recently sat down with the broader Cloneable team over lunch to talk venture, fundraising and why we leaned in early. We love getting to know the entire team and being there as the company grows. Proud to be in Cloneable’s corner.

As we grow, David Jones sat down with the team over lunch for an informal Q&A, covering: -How VCs actually assess companies -What's happening in the current funding market -Why Cloneable stood out to him early on At my first startup, venture felt like a black box. You'd pull data for board meetings and help build slides for pitch decks, but you rarely understood the why behind it, what investors were actually weighing. And when you're early at a company, every person has that kind of ownership. You're not just an employee, you're creating the value. It matters that everyone on the team feels connected to the people and decisions driving us forward. We're all partners in building something that matters. Spending a lunch connecting as contributors to that mission was a great way to spend an hour. And David got to hear a few side project pitches, though I doubt they will make it into the portfolio :) Thanks for your partnership, BCVP!
