Honored to share that I've made Partner at Boost VC! Since joining Adam Draper, Brayton Williams ⏻, and Maddie Callander four years ago, I've learned so much from their mentorship and have had a ton of fun along the way. As a scientist/engineer originally, I love every day that I get to be on the frontier of deep tech, and work with awesome founders tackling important problems. Grateful to get to do that with all the incredible people at Boost VC, and excited to continue to build the future together!

☢️  We just co-led the Series D of over $300m into Radiant ☢️ Why did a Pre-Seed fund end up leading a Series D?! 👇 In 2020, we met Doug Bernauer (Radiant CEO) and said yes during the first call to become his first VC check. Doug spent 12 years at SpaceX doing special projects for Elon Musk. A couple included building the first rocket with legs and the first prototype of Boring Company. The last project he was put on was the Mars exploration mission where he was in charge of solving the energy problem. This is where small Nuclear Fission reactors entered his mind. He then left SpaceX to start Radiant full time in 2019. For the last 5+ years the Radiant team has hit every milestone on the schedule he laid out in his very first pitch deck (something unheard of in hardware and deep tech). Shoutout Tori! 💪 In 2026, Radiant will become the VERY FIRST newly designed reactor to go live in the USA in over 50 years! This will be historic. The world needs more energy and Nuclear will be the solution. Doug, Tori, Dr. Rita, Mike and team are the best operators to deliver mass produced nuclear reactors to all. Congrats to all on the new capital and continued belief from many of the best investors - Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, DCVC and more! Onwards! ☢️

Today, we’re excited to introduce Polyphron, a compute-first bio company building the world’s first personalized tissue foundry. Medicine today can influence biology, but it still cannot rebuild the tissues that fail. We aim to change that. Polyphron engineers functional human replacement tissues capable of restoring organ function, reversing chronic disease, and ultimately enhancing human physiology. Our platform brings together AI-guided morphogenesis models that learn the rules of human development, automated cellular manufacturing and iPSC banks that provide a lifelong supply of replacement tissues. We’re grateful to be backed by Compound, Humba Ventures, R7 Partners, Atypical Ventures, Unruly Capital and Boost VC, talented advisors like Jacob Feala and early believers and friends like Will M., Matthew Lewis, and John Kennedy. Our goal is simple and ambitious. Build the world’s first human tissue foundry. Shift medicine from managing decline to rebuilding function. From treatment to construction. Thank you to Ashlee Vance and Eryney Marrogi for covering our launch! https://lnkd.in/eEqTacxz

This weekend, we partnered with the Stanford Robotics Center and Stanford Student Robotics to host a showcase of startup demos and student research. Projects spanned autonomous systems, drones, soft robotics, manipulation, and sensing; many already exploring real-world commercial applications. It was also great to work with Steve Cousins, whose work across Willow Garage and Relay Robotics has shaped much of today’s robotics ecosystem. His continued mentorship through SRC is inspiring the next generation of builders. What stood out: - Teams are increasingly blending high-level AI reasoning with low-level controls, creating adaptive, learning-driven systems. - We’re seeing prototypes where foundation-model perception meets classical control loops, accelerating iteration cycles and expanding what’s possible in human-robot collaboration. - The breadth of applications continues to grow: from field robotics (agriculture, construction, energy) and medical robotics (rehab, imaging) to domestic robotics (companionship, household augmentation) and education & culture (creative and social applications). Huge thanks to Steve and the SRC team for making this possible. The energy in the room was a true reminder of why we at Boost VC invest in the builders turning research (and sci-fi) into reality!

Today we announce Boost VC Fund 4 of $87,654,321! Thanks to my partner Brayton Williams ⏻ and Maddie Callander for incredible long standing partnership. Trust is the token of the realm. This was only made possible because of our bold LPs, our superhero founders and our tenacious Boost VC team ( Gus Domel, PhD, Emily Yu, Danielle Sosnick, Derek B., and Alex San Agustin who make one-deal-a-week humanly possible. This fund will invest in the founders creating our future: from nuclear energy to genetics to space travel, Boost VC has been on the forefront of writing the very first checks into founders building the Sci-Fi future we read about as kids. With our new $87M Fund 4, we’ll have the privilege of helping another 150 startups begin their journey. That brings Boost VC’s assets under management to over $300M, with a portfolio that’s already grown to 400 active companies across every corner of Deep Tech. It’s this combination of discipline, velocity, and community that keeps our LPs doubling down - not to mention the returns we’re proud to share publicly: - Fund Alpha ($6.5m - 2013): 2.15× DPI (cash back to investors) & 6.24× TVPI (cash back + what’s still left) - Fund I ($38m - 2016): 4.35× DPI & 7.02× TVPI - (Funds II–III are still too early for DPI, but already strong performance.) Our strategy has always been simple: invest first in the mission driven founders tinkering with new fringe technologies who are ignored by other VCs. A few companies in the portfolio include: - Coinbase: Our biggest crypto bet went public, now worth ≈$80B and reporting $1.43B in Q2 2025 profit. - Radiant Nuclear: Closed a $165M Series C (a16z, DCVC, Founders Fund, USV) in May 2025 to commercialize portable micro-reactors. They will be the first live new reactor design in over 50 years when they go live in 2026. - Colossal Biosciences: Raised a $200M Series C in January 2025 at a $10.2B valuation to accelerate de-extinction, and yes - they’ve brought back the Dire Wolf. - Deepgram: The leading Voice AI company with 400+ enterprise customers and over 50K years of audio processed. - K2 Space Corporation: Raised a $110M Series B (Altimeter, LightSpeed) in February 2025 to scale its multi-orbit satellite platform inside a new 180k ft² Torrance factory. - Volley: Closed a $55M Series C (Lightspeed, Microsoft) in July 2024; its voice-enabled AI games are now played in 30M+ homes across Alexa, Roku, and mobile. To founders: If you’re raising $2M or less and building the future (time travel, teleportation, superpowers), we want to meet you. Onward. Let’s make sci-fi a reality. 🚀 https://lnkd.in/gTQdAhTT
