  • Two public forms on an Easy Digital Downloads store get hit by bots: the product reviews and the account registration form. Spam reviews drop sketchy links on your best product pages. Fake signups bloat your user list and warm up the next attack. Now, ActiveLayer provides native Easy Digital Downloads spam protection. Every review and every registration is scored by AI on the server. Spam reviews go to your spam folder, or get auto-deleted above the confidence threshold you set. Fake signups get a clean error and the account is never created. Two independent toggles: protect reviews, registration, or both. Your checkout is never gated. Spam filtering should never get between a real buyer and a purchase, so it doesn't run there at all. No CAPTCHA. Real customers never see a puzzle, and it fails open, so reviews fall back to native moderation and registrations proceed inline if our API ever has a bad afternoon. Every review and registration lands in the Submissions log, blocked or clean, so you can audit the door instead of trusting it. #EasyDigitalDownloads #WordPress #Ecommerce #SpamProtection

Your opt-in form is the one part of a funnel that has to stay public. That's exactly why bots target it. Every fake lead poisons your list, skews your funnel stats, and burns send volume on inboxes that were never real. ActiveLayer now ships native FunnelKit spam protection. Every opt-in is scored by AI on the server, before the lead is ever created. The check is synchronous and runs after FunnelKit validates, so a clean opt-in is created as normal and a spam one is stopped cold with an inline error. No lead, no junk contact. No CAPTCHA. Real subscribers never see a puzzle, a checkbox, or a challenge. It fails open, it's on by default once your key connects, and every opt-in lands in the Submissions log so you can audit the door instead of trusting it.

  • Open registration is how a community grows. It's also how the bots get in. On a paid membership site, fake accounts sit in the same directory as the members who pay you, until someone on your team clears them out by hand. ActiveLayer now includes native signup protection for BuddyBoss Platform. - A synchronous, server-side AI check on the public /register/ form. Fake accounts are blocked before the pending signup is ever created. - Spam gets an inline error next to the email field. Real members see nothing. No CAPTCHA. - On by default once your API key is connected. One toggle, under ActiveLayer → Integrations. - Fail-open: if our API is unreachable, signups proceed. We never block a real member because we had a bad afternoon. - Blocked signups are labelled "Member" in your Submissions log, so every verdict is auditable. New in v1.3.0. BuddyPress gets the same protection, with its own toggle.

  • WooCommerce stores have two quiet revenue problems: spam reviews on product pages, and fake account signups bleeding into the CRM. The usual fix is a CAPTCHA on every form. But reCAPTCHA cuts completions by up to 40%, and the worst form to put that tax on is the one your highest-intent customers are already nervous about filling in. Today we shipped a different answer. ActiveLayer now protects WooCommerce natively. Two toggles: product reviews and customer registration (across My Account, classic checkout, and the new Cart/Checkout Blocks). Server-side scoring in milliseconds. No CAPTCHAs. If our API hiccups, submissions pass through. The plugin is live and free up to 1,000 checks: → https://lnkd.in/dHGavhtx Curious to hear from anyone who's wrestled with review spam or fake-account waves. What worked, what didn't?
