I’ve never spent much time talking about what I was building. I've always just preferred to build. This moment feels different. For decades, banking software has been responsible for recording the past. It stored transactions, updated balances, generated reports, and waited for humans to decide what to do next. Looking ahead, that model no longer works. Just as other critical industries are being transformed with AI, banking must evolve as well. The next generation of technology cannot simply keep records. It must monitor, understand, learn, and eventually anticipate. I believe banking will be one of the hardest industries to rebuild around that idea. That's why we started Maximum. Today, Maximum announced a $30M round led by CRV, alongside Pear VC, Restive Ventures, Plug and Play, and Anthemis Group, to build an intelligent bank operating system designed for a world where software doesn't just record information but also understands and anticipates. It's an ambitious problem, and one worth dedicating the next chapter of my life to. We're still early. There is a tremendous amount of work ahead.
