PMOS affects an estimated 10-13% of reproductive-aged employees worldwide. Diagnosis is often delayed for years, which means day-to-day symptoms like fatigue, pain, and mental health effects get dismissed or attributed to other things. Employees are stuck managing everything without an accurate diagnosis or appropriate care. Left unaddressed, PMOS also carries a higher long-term risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Here’s how all of this shows up at work. #PMOSAwarenessMonth

Your maternity leave policy is too important to ignore or outsource to AI. With the right policy in place, employers show how they support employees and build stronger, happier workforces. Without it, employees end up confused, overwhelmed, and disgruntled. (Not having a policy could also get your organization in legal hot water — a costly mistake.) Here are the 7 elements every maternity leave policy should include: 1. Eligibility criteria 2. Duration of leave 3. Information about compensation/pay 4. Job protection and return-to-work guarantee 5. Continuation of health benefits 6. Inclusive language 7. How to submit notice and other expectations for documentation And it should be reviewed annually to make sure your policies are compliant and up to date. Still have questions? Everything you need to know about frozen shoulder and menopause: Frozen shoulder (also called adhesive capsulitis) is a painful shoulder condition where stiffness and inflammation severely restrict a person’s range of motion. Frozen shoulder disproportionately affects women between ages 40–60, which is the typical window of menopausal transition. Hormonal changes during this period, especially falling estrogen levels, can cause stiffness and inflammation in connective tissue. This can contribute to the development of frozen shoulder. Frozen shoulder menopause treatment includes physical therapy, gentle movement, and possibly hormone replacement therapy. If you believe you may be experiencing frozen shoulder during menopause, talk to your doctor about connecting with both orthopedic and menopause specialists for holistic support.

If you answered “Yes” to one or more of of these symptoms, it might be time to look into hormone therapy (HT) for menopause symptom relief. During menopause, the body stops producing as much estrogen and progesterone. This can cause discomfort and even pain for many people, including hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and mood changes. Even mild symptoms can be disruptive to your day-to-day life! Instead of trying to “tough it out” or manage the symptoms alone, consider reaching out to your healthcare provider to learn how HT can improve your quality of life. #MenopauseSupport #MenopauseJourney #MenopauseWellness

Fertility benefits have become shorthand for IVF coverage. That framing skips the window where outcomes are actually decided. In this Employee Benefit News op-ed, our founder and CEO Tammy Sun makes the case for the premester, the months before conception when metabolic health in both women and men can determine whether IVF is needed at all.

Hormone pellets for managing menopausal symptoms are not FDA-approved, yet marketing from med spas and the wellness industry is growing. Hormone therapy (HT) is an established practice, usually done with FDA-approved oral or topical medications. Hormone pellets are a newer option for HT in which a grain-of-rice-sized pellet is inserted into the skin. It gradually releases hormones and dissolves over the course of 3–6 months. Swipe through to understand four important trade-offs before pursuing hormone pellet therapy for menopause. Full guide in the comments.

Let’s talk menstrual cycle phases. Your menstrual cycle is more than just your period. It’s actually a monthly rhythm shaped by predictable hormone shifts. Here’s a simple breakdown 👇 🌑 Menstrual phase This is when your period happens. Estrogen and progesterone drop, and your body sheds the uterine lining. 🌓 Follicular phase This begins on the same day as your period and continues after bleeding stops. During this phase, follicle-stimulating hormone helps eggs mature, and estrogen rises to rebuild the uterine lining. 🌕 Ovulation Around the middle of your cycle, a spike in luteinizing hormone releases an egg. Cervical mucus often becomes clear and stretchy, and some people notice a subtle temperature rise. 🌗 Luteal phase After ovulation, the ovary produces progesterone to stabilize the uterine lining. If pregnancy doesn’t occur, hormone levels fall and your next period begins. This is when people experience PMS symptoms. The more you know, the better you can take care of your reproductive health! Read our full guide on how to track your menstrual cycle at the link in the bio. #ovulationtracking #menstrualhealth #menstrualcycle #menstrualcycleawareness

How supportive is your menopause policy, really? The European Menopause and Andropause Society has just published new recommendations for employers and managers because: “Employers need to retain and attract a workforce with experience and valuable skills and talent, and not to lose staff because of the menopause.” They’re also very specific about what good support looks like: - Give people more control over temperature and ventilation. - Allow flexibility in uniforms and dress codes, including cooler, more comfortable fabrics. - Consider how working patterns may affect symptoms. - Name menopause in sickness and attendance policies. - Make adjustments based on the actual demands of someone’s job. Most of these changes don’t cost much. All they require is someone to make a decision. Would your policy pass the test? Swipe for the right questions to ask. #MenopauseAtWork
