What’s On at WordPress Accessibility Day 2023
To give you an idea of what you can expect from WP Accessibility Day 2023, here’s a selection of the talks we’re most looking forward to:
- Creating Accessible Forms the Easy Way — Our very own Morgan Kay, a Software Engineer at Racketgenius, and Rian Rietveld, a Web Accessibility Expert from The A11y Collective, will demonstrate how to build an accessible form with our plugin, Gravity Forms. You’ll also get a set of guidelines so that you can create forms that are accessible to all, without needing custom code or specialist knowledge.
- Is My WordPress Site Accessible? How to Perform Accessibility and Usability Tests — Learn how to evaluate your WordPress site objectively by using the accessibility and usability tests covered in this talk by Maria Gabriela (Gaby) Gandica, a UX Manager at Smartmatic.
- Let’s Build an Accessible WordPress Page & Post — Get a practical demonstration on how to build accessible WordPress posts and pages using the block editor. Peter Ingersoll, of Ingersoll Interactive, covers specific accessibility topics and how to ensure they’re considered when creating content in WordPress.
- How to Address Accessibility and Privacy to Help Avoid Fines and Lawsuits — As well as ensuring everyone can access your website, one of the benefits of making your site accessible is that it could help avoid fines and lawsuits. Privacy is another area where noncompliance can lead to penalties, and in this talk, you’ll learn about the intersection of privacy and accessibility regulations and how you can address both.
- Making a Visual Tool Accessible to Screen Readers — Find out how Equalize Digital, the creators of the WordPress Accessibility Checker plugin, made their tool compatible with screen readers to ensure it provides value to people with blindness or low vision.
- Understanding Color and Contrast Requirements in WCAG 2 — The parts of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) relating to contrast and color can be difficult to interpret and implement. This can make it hard to get this core part of your website right. In this session, Jonathan Whiting demonstrates how designers, developers, and others who create or evaluate web content can use free tools to achieve compliance with the contrast and color requirements.
- How to Code for Keyboard Access in WordPress — Get a better understanding of the challenges faced by keyboard-only users and how to make your WordPress website accessible to them.
You can view the rest of the sessions on the schedule page of the event website.

Gravity Forms and Accessibility
Sponsoring this event isn’t our only commitment to accessibility.

If you want to create accessible forms for almost any purpose, Gravity Forms is a great option. Its library of editable templates and intuitive drag-and-drop editor really simplifies the process of creating forms for WordPress websites. And our extensitive documentation and expert Support team can support you every step of the way.
